I know that APC+ is biodegradable, but I don't think that really means anything other than that it's biodegradable. It does claim to be safe on painted surfaces, though.
 
How well does Meguiar's APC+ work? How concentrated is it? Can someone post dilution ratios for it? Also, does anyone have a link to a place that sells it? I can't find it at all on Meguiar's Webpage. I'm going to search around for a local distributor.



I know I've had my differences with Ketch in the past but I guess time has passed and I've gotten over it. I'll most probably be going with their Omni All Purpose Cleaner.
 
Intel...didn't I include some APC+ in that stash I sent? If not, sorry 'bout that....I should have. Be glad to send you some to compare along wioth some AutoInt Omni APC. Of course, It'll cost you some Satin Creme! :D

I got some but haven't tried it out yet. I'm wanting to make sure the product I use has a good price tag on it as well as easy to acquire. Right now I'm not aware of any local Megiar's Distributors that carry APC. I plan on checking tomorrow though. Right now Autoint's Omni All Purpose Cleaner meets my requirements. $16.95 you get enough concentrate to make 10 gallons of cleaner. It is suppose to take some dwell time to use though but I'm talking to a few people about it through emails.



I'm also waiting to hear more about Stoner's APC.
 
Hasnt anyone tried Castrols Simply Clean ? Im tellin you guys, its worth the small investment........from engines to lipsticks, the stuff works......

As I have posted before, I tried to find APC+ in Canada, but could not find it anywhere. I contacted Meguiar's and found out that APC+ can not be sold in Canada due to the label not meeting Canadian requirements(ie. I guess that the label does not have both English and French on it). All I can say is, how stupid!!!:mad:



So I ended up getting the regular APC Butyl formula. After I diluted it, I found that it worked really well!!:up



Intel, have you tried Pro Wax's: Frank's Special Formula APC?

Good grief, no wonder it doesn't show up in any catalog and most inventories here. :rolleyes: One place I called said "out of stock" with an air of finality that implied they wouldn't get any if requested, and from what Megs Canada told you that makes complete sense.



I'm not sure we even carry the Meguiar's Detailer line up here at all actually... :confused: Maybe it'll come eventually.



I was kinda wondering about that Frank's Special stuff too. Sounds interesting, but getting it is another story. :p

I see that stuff everywhere, and now I remember why I didn't look into it further. This is from their FAQ:

Question: What are some of the uses of Super Clean Cleaner/Degreaser?



Answer: Super Clean Cleaner/Degreaser cleans engines, tools, grills, garden and shop equipment, pool areas, white wall tires, plastic or vinyl lawn furniture, stainless steel, fiberglass and concrete. In addition to stoves, hoods and exhaust fans, tubs and showers, countertops, sinks, linoleum, porcelain, unpainted tile, laundry and more.



Before using, be sure to refer to the recommended dilution ration chart for Super Clean Cleaner/Degreaser. Avoid all contact with the exterior surfaces of vehicles, motorcycles, wheels and glass. Avoid prolonged contact with aluminum and paint. Always pre-test the integrity of any surface to be cleaned in an inconspicuous area.

It doesn't sound as safe and multi-purpose as something like APC+. How can they tell you it's okay to use it on tires if you're not supposed to get it on the wheels? I guess you'd either have to dismount your tires or dab it on with a sponge....



It's also not as strong/concentrated as the dilution ratios are lower.

Yes, you can get "some" of the Detailer's Series such as the APC, Engine Shampoo and a few others. But things like Engine Kote and APC+, is a "No Go" so far in Canada! What a PITA!!! These stupid regulations are a real pain!



I may have to go to Van one of these days soon to see some of your suppliers as the ones here in the Okanagan are TOO expensive!!

Did you try asking an auto body supply store if they can order some for you? A paint supply store near me said they could order some in from the U.S. but it is easier for me to go over there and get it myself.
 
what is wrong if you got a gallon of simple green or castrol super clean and you diluted it to the recommended ratios, is it that unsafe for cars?
 
If you diluted it enough, it should be safe.



After hearing the numerous bad stories of Simple Green, I stay away from it. I am happy with the all purpose cleaners I have now. Find no need to try SG or CSC.
 
Ive used Castrol faithfully, never had a problem if following dilution ratios.....Heck, even when I dont !! I normally use a wheel cleaner for wheels though, thats something I dont want to mess up ratios on.....
 
What Jason said! :up I use Meguiar's APC+ and slavishly follow the recommended dilution ratios for engine-cleaning ... or carpets .. or upholstery ... or whatever. So far (after 6 months), it's never let me down.
