All Makita BO6040 users please step in...

I usually use a rotary and follow up with a ROB but recently picked up a BO6040 in an effort to cut back on time and splatter cleanup. So far it has been working out well. I have a few questions for fellow users.

How do you like this machine?

Which mode do you use most often?

What speed do you usually use?

It seemed to work pretty well for moderate paint correction. So far I like the machine a lot. I do think it should come with a side handle, luckily I use the one off of my rotary. Anybody have an extra side handle they want to get rid of?

I have not had a chance to use it on my car... but its working wonders on sanding my floors!

I too was dissapointed about the not-included handle, but it is miles ahead of the Rigid brand I brought back to home depot.

Also i am finding it difficult to find 6" hook and loop paper in assorted grits. could not find 40 and 60, but did come across 80, 100, and 220.

Are the the polishing pads more accessable, and where did you pick them up.

It appears the BO6040 is a tad bit smaller than the PC. Can anyone verify this?

It's a bit bigger, and heavier then the PC.

The polishing pads I use are 7.5" & 6.5" LC pads.

Most of the time I only have one hand on the machine. On flat surfaces I typically only have one hand holding up the back end of the machine to level it out. On the sides I hold the top of the front end.
