And no, I don't mean me. :D I mean take your hats off and bow to the brilliant Acura dealership detailer who created this beautiful artwork:

The director of my department was waiting for me at my desk this morning when I got to work. She said that they were moving some carpet through the garage and accidently bumped into her son's car and caused a couple scratches. I went to clean those up and when I pulled the car out of the garage into the sun to check my work on the fender I saw this lovely vision. They totally fried this poor kid's paint. I cleaned up the rest of the door and the front fender for him, but I said since it was getting late and I really wasn't prepared for a total paint polishing, that I'd have to come back another day to clear up the rest. I couldn't believe that the dealership would let a brand new '06 RSX leave their detail shop looking that bad. I've seen 10 year old cars look better. It was all swirled up and the holograms were horrible. To top it off there was still adhesive from the shipping sheets all over the car. It was too much for the little time I had to give tonight, but I told him that he could schedule a time with me to get the rest taken care of.

On the bright side I did get the scratches out that his mom caused. :D I also cleared up the buffer burn pretty well. :)

It isn't really my best work. I went there to just work on a couple scratches that his mom said were minor. Yeah... minor. It took some work to get those out. I wasn't really prepared to spend all evening polishing out buffer burns. I finished the door and fender just so the one side would look better, but I didn't even look at the rest of the car in the light. Hopefully the work I did on the door will prompt him to call me when he notices that the rest of the car is less than perfect. He is good for referals at any rate. :)

Did they bring this issue up to the dealer? I mean we are not talking about slight hologramming that looked awful. They should have fixed it, or it atleast paid for it to be fixed if their geniuses couldn't do it.

Luckly they had you, nice work getting out that disaster.

The dealership told him to come back in so they could remove the adhesive that was left on the car. I told him that when he goes back in he should make sure the shop manager sees what his 'detailer' has done to the car. I also suggested that he contact the general manager with the pictures I took and that he should probably take some others of the damage. I just think it is BS that they would sell him a brand new car and then work him over like this.

I should have known this would happen though. When I had my Acura and would get it serviced at that dealership I would go ape when I saw them pulling it around to get it washed. I told them if they ever washed the car then I wouldn't be paying for the service they did on it. I probably couldn't really enforce that threat, but I sure as hell wouldn't be giving them any more business if they did it. Their 'detailers' are the worst I've ever seen.
