All clay not the same

Alfisti- This is just an educated guess, but I *think* that clay is the medium, non-elastic stuff that you need to be careful with (lest you get marring). Sure *looks* the same to me.

The only gray elastic clay I've ever seen was only on the market for a short time and that was years ago. It looked completely different, as SilvaBimma noted, that clay did not exhibit the graininess you can see in the picture; it was much more "plastic looking" than that, I *never* saw grainy texture with it.

Yeah I think you're right. I hope its less sticky/smeary than that Megs conumer white stuff I've been using. Utter rubbish!

I use to use the Mothers yellow, but from this thread I believe it was the elastic clay. It was very different to the Megs/Sonus clays I used concurrently. It definitely was more 'rubbery' with a very firm, smooth texture. It was excellent. :up But that was some time ago.

I wonder if Mothers still sells the same (presumably elastic) clay in their kits in Australia. :think2

Alfisti- The Mother's clay that I've used (same as the stuff Griot's sells AFAIK), was more elastic than some clays, but still wasn't the discontinued "elastic clay" that some of us really like (which was made by KEL). I used the Griot's/Mother's for a long time and it's not bad stuff.

If you can get the ClayMagic blue, you might want to give that a try.

Again, I'd be careful with that Presta clay...the only time I've ever marred up paint with clay it was with the stuff that the Presta resembles. When you're used to clays like the Griot's/Mother's the aggressive stuff can catch you by surprise.
