I take it you are talking about the ABC wash. It works fairly well for the reasons stated in the ad. Most will use it for the little rust spots, metal embedded in paint, caused by rail dust or brake pads. It works well for this, but you might have to clay at the same time or use product twice. Also if you want really clean paint before polishing or sealant application. It will not remove tar or tree sap.
 
Yeah, that's the "B" part of the ABC system. I've only used it in conjunction with the other two parts (the "A" and "C") but it worked well for me. Not as strong as I'd expected; I'd wear gloves and maybe eye protection, but it wasn't all that scary. FWIW, I clayed while it was dwelling. This did dissolve the clay pretty fast, but it seemed to help the "B" do its job better.
