Spoken like a true Floridian ;)

(Passat traction control rules, BTW :xyxthumbs )

...is just as bad. The salt and sand on the road washes up and leaves a filthy layer of grime all over the car !:scared

Boo-hoo!

Damn Californians and Floridians.... Almost makes you want to conjure up a snow-dance and put the hex on 'em :xyxthumbs

To all you " dry" people :

you may have our rain: the past 5 days it's being raining and for the next 2 days they expect more rain.

Next week-end it should be dry: let's hope they are right...

I didn't move to Florida ( from N.J. ) because of the car-friendly climate, but it's perhaps the easiest place I know of to keep a car clean. To top it off, we've been in a drought situation for a couple years now, so rain is rare. That of course is not good for everything elsehere, but I have to force myself to take a bucket and hose to my car now and then just to remove the road oils. As far as dirt goes, it wouldn't need a wash for months at a time otherwise, since I Q/D it almost each day, and keep it covered in the garage. I DO know how lucky i am.

I also know about snow, slush and deep down grunge that comes from cold climates though...not fun for a clean car guru. Cheers. Dan H

Got a call from this client in November. He just picked up this Corvette off of a 2-year lease. He was looking at the 370z's, but couldn't find a black on black one anywhere locally. So, he found this car and fell in love with it at first sight. This car got a wash/seal with CG JetSeal in mid November while he waited for the full correction job over the winter break (after final semester exams ). Anyways, december comes around and so does the Corvette. The paint was in TERRIBLE condition, worst buffer trails I have ever worked on! The marks from the previous "detailer's" buffer left pigtails ALL OVER THE CAR :scared:. Some were so deep, wetsanding was needed (2000, 3000). My camera was dead when I was doing the correction work, but got a few quick shots with my iphone to show the drastic change in the paint. Got about 95% correction, which was more than what the owner expected/actually wanted. I can safely say, he was very happy . :p

Process:

Engine w/ Chemical Guys Grime Reaper and Chemical Guys Fade2Black
Wash w/ Chemical Guys Citrus Wash + Gloss
Wheels w/ Chemical Guys Wheel Gel
Tires and Wheel Wells w/ Chemical Guys Orange Degreaser
Clay w/ Chemical Guys Mild Clay and Chemical Guys Luber
Correction w/ Meguiar's M105/PFW and Menzerna 106FA/White.
Seal w/ Chemical Guys JetSeal.
Exhaust w/ Chemical Guys Metal Shine
Tires w/ Chemical Guys Extreme Shine
Interior had a basic wipedown, vacuum, and windows clean.
