Air Fresheners

Anyone using them ? I've never really liked the really strong artificial smell that the air-freshners give off but I wouldn't mind something that's more mild and give a little whiff .

What do you guys like ?

I have tried Autoglyms autofresh on the strength of other UK Autopians recommendations which is ok,I use it in Mrs Concour's car.

I prefer Groits leather scent and Zanios Z10 which I know is a Leather conditioner, it leaves a scent which complements the Groits.Don't go overboard with the Groits spray though, just a little.

I like the Ozium(sp?) New Car Scent spray; it's a little strong initially, but tapers off to a very pleasing smell after a day or two.

Also, I don't use any freshener after I've applied Zaino Z-10, as I love the new leather smell it fills my car with!

I've used the New Car Spray Scent. It is strong initially....a bit too cinammony IMO. But when it does taper off, it's pretty nice. Goes away a bit too quick though...

I was thinking about gel/can/paper, etc.......anything that I could leave in the car.

Two good ones I have used lately:

1. Yankee Candle cards from Advance Auto.

2. Eagle One Aeromatics line...lasts a very long time.

AA sells them at some Atlanta locations and not others I have found...very bizarre but that is what I saw. We use the "honeydew melon" scent in the wife's car.

i'm supposed to try a home made "brew" using Gain powder, in wrapped cheesecloth and placed strategically.. but i can't find Gain in powder in my area, so i'm forced to use an artificial measure

Hey that was my idea! :D

Any other good smelling powdered detergent works, I just prefer Gain for its freshness!

The last time I had my car washed they used a paper air freshner called Wonder Wafers under the seats. It smelled good for quite a while so I checked out there website site, wonderwafers.com and ordered a box. Only bad thing is you really have to order in bulk.

I second the use of zaino z10 leather conditioner to freshen the air in your car. Not only are you conditioning your seats, it has a fantastic natural leather smell!

They all stink. Some worse than others, but they all stink.

If you want just a faint wiff of freshness, use a Bounce fabric sheet. Stuff it under the seat.

A real perfume can smell nice, but beware, the ingredients don't evaporate at the same rate, and you can get a really weird odor in a few days.

Fabreeze or the like is generally quite nice imo simply because it gets rid of odors.

I got creative with the leather scent for my car... I had new custom leather put in, in September with red stitching on everything... Anyway... I wanted to keep that smell for a long time, and always have some sort of air circulation in the car, most of the time the A/C even in the winter... So I found out where the A/C intake duct is on my MINI and got some Groits Leather Scent and sprayed a couple times... Wahlaa my car smells like leather all the time. I do this about once every two weeks btw...
