AIO or SSR1 under Zaino Z5 & Z2pro

they are some minor but not enough to bother me. Thats why I said little to no marring or swirls. Its kept in the garage I use it twice a week at most. 14k miles over 2 1/2 years. Chris

Wow, sorry about that. Here I thought it was your daily driver. Z-PC might take care of everything for you then. Maybe you can skip the SSR. :bigups

The reason your paint has lost some of its POP is because the Clearcoat is hazy. Yes, you need a polishing session.

If you have Z-PC start with that and see if this "clears" the CC. Do a section and "work" the Z-PC into the paint. If this works, complete vehicle and re-apply Z2-PRO.

I suggest a polishing pad by PC set at 5-6 opms.

A wonderful combo I presently use on black CC is Menzerna IP/Optimum polish/ Z-PC Fusion. All applied by PC at 6 opms.

The AIO will not last as long as Z, and therefore the Z won't last.

How does the AIO not last UNDER the Zaino? It would seem to me that whatever product is on top would have to fail to expose what is under it?

Perfectly correct. Unfortunately, the Z may not last as long as normal because it is applied to another sealant rather than the painted finish. The AIO will not "fail" sooner than expected but the combo will not equal the sum of the expected durabilities of the individual protectants.

Just a thought. :wavey

I'm not a Ziano user, but given that you are not complaining about swrils and the fact that Z-PC is suppose to be pretty strong (I hear its close to #80 or that it works sort of like MPP strength depends on pad) you should be fine with using it by itself with a polishing pad (green propel or white LC). Why bother with all of these steps. I would only use the SSR2.5 only if you need to remove heavier swrils.

Sal told me that Z is a "chain-linking" polymer, and for best results should be used within the Zaino system only.

AIO is an acrylic(right?) and creates a different "chain" to which Z will not bond optimally, but it will still work to an extent. Zaino is a resin polymer, right?

Drew I have no doubt that Ziano does not work good under AIO, but IMO the work only good under Ziano stuff sounds like self serving BS to me. The point is that Ziano just does not bond well if there is oils or sealants/waxes on the paint. You can polish the car with any polish, but you may have to do that alcohol wipe before using Ziano. SSR polishes should be fine to use under Ziano as they have little to no polishing oils compared to Meguiars polishes.
