AIO or #9 first?

After washing and claying, should I apply meg #9 first to get the swirls out, or should I put AIO on first, then #9.



Also is AIO a true polish, or is it just a cleaner wax? After using #9 would I need to use another polish before moving onto my SG?

First of all, #9 is very mild and will perform minimal swirl removal (as will AIO). #9 has some fillers in it, so it will fill some swirls that it doesn't remove, but these fillers (Meguiar's trade secret polishing oils) will likely interfere with your SG bonding. Likewise, those fillers will likely be removed by the AIO step. If these are the products you are going to use, I would recommend #9/AIO/SG.

In hand application, is #9 very mild chemically as well as mechanically?

I would say #9 is a less effective chemical cleaner than say, DC1. It's certainly no DACP abrasively or MPPC chemically.
