AIO and Duragloss

Can AIO be used as a base for Duragloss #105? I want to use the AIO to clean the paint. Or should I just use #601 and then the 105? Or use all three? The more I read, the more confused I get! I was also thinking of using 601, then the 111 since it cleans better than the 105. I'll be doing it by hand. I need to get my wife's gold Jeep and my black BMW ready for the winter.

I've only tried the DG once the advice given to me was to use the #601 & #105. Fabulous results . i did the vehicle for my neighbor.

I have asked the chemist at DG this question on the PBA 601 if needed or not...

here is what I got...

He said if the paint is clean and polished..really do not really need the 601..but in another breath he said it does add to the durability and adds to giving the first application a hard finish and better bond...

So I use the 601...

I think that the AIO and the Jeff Werkstatt prime would also be a nice base..I know of people who have used them and see no problems....

the 601 does clean the paint and does have some type of a sealer additive in it.. ...and the reason of leaving the 601 on is the mix with the 105 to add the catalyst...

talking to the chemist is good..but sometimes they can confuse you..lol.....

they say... this is one way to do it.. then they say...this is the perfect way

I believe you could use AIO and not have any problems...but I use the 601 cause it was created for the system and has worked great for me...

Alos the 105 is the better one of them all..most durable and best looking,,shine wise...

make sure you get some Aquawax and Fast Clean and Shine...

these will add some serious gloss and slickness to the finish...ues the FC&S as a QD...the Aquawax monthly to boost you finish..you will be surprised...

I have tried using both 601 and JW Prime as the base for 105, in both cases the result turned out great.

Thanks for the great answers! I'll go ahead and order 601, 105, FC&S and Aquawax. That should get me going. My wife's Jeep hasn't been waxed in almost a year ( I can just see you guys wincing! ), and I bought my BMW used about 3 months ago, so the wax is now breaking down. They both still look good though. It will be interesting to see how the DG holds up to a central Illinois winter.

A couple months ago I called Duragloss and talked to Jerry. I ask him if I needed to use 601 over Meg# 80 he said no just apply the 105 you will be fine. Today I was talking to Bill I ask him if I used 671 their swirl remover would I need to use 601 and he said no you don't need to use 601 over it. I said are you saying that I will not see any benefit from using 601 and he said well yes 601 will make the 105 bond better increasing durability and giving it a deeper look. I said then I need to use 601 and he said no you don't need to use it but it will give it more durability if you do use it. I said well if that is the case I will use it and he said well it won't take long to apply it.
I take it that you can get good results without using 601 but you will get better results if you use it..:)

Bart...that is the same answer I got a few months ago...

like I said in a earlier post..I think they sniff the chemicals to much or they have a moonshine still there also..lol.....they are pretty laid back guys...

Jerry told me the same..you don't need 601 if you polish..but in another breath he said it will add hardness and durability and gloss to the finished look and application...

so I said it is better to use the 601..he said..Of course if you want the best method to use the 105..111.. as a system....I just shake my head...lol...

they do not try to push all the products on you...

I told him about using AW between coats of 105..he said interesting concept..you will really boost your finish...I asked if any problem doing it...he said no ..the polish will bond to AW no problem....

Jerry said with all the calls from people he has some Ideas for some new products...besides a newer type sealant...
