Agh! My Mother! You would never believe this!

A few years ago, I was dating a woman with twin 5-year old girls. Well, she was out washing her car one day when I called. She ran in to get the phone, and her twins decided to 'help' her wash the car. They picked up a pair of metal bristle parts brushes and started scrubbing away on the hood (while sitting on it, of course). We talk for a while and she goes back out and the girls are just beaming proud! They made mommy's hood a shiny silver (red car), at least in a few areas.

Of course, it was my fault since I had called and distracted her. :)

Could be worse.. I had some kid park an SUV next to my RX7 about two weeks ago... gave a whole 1 foot between my car and his ugly *** tank.. pushed open his door and dinged my car in THREE PLACES!!

bummer ! :( it hurts just to hear that, so i guess you had or still have a hard time dealing wih it...........of course you need to have it repaired, but still it's annoying to the utmost :shocked

Such a nice car as an RX7 on top of it outchh:(

I always saw it though.. always...

That is hauntingly funny/sad. At least you got to date the girl for some time. I know what you mean though, some part of you feels the car is never the same after that.

I'm almost embarrased to admit this, but here goes. When I was young (like 5 or something). My dad was cleaning off the snow from the windshield etc. I ran into the garage, grabbed my little metal snow shovle and decided to help dad in whipping the snow off the car.

You guessed it. The whole left side of the car was ruined! I still remember how proud I was at such a great job that I did. My dad couldn't help laugh his head off. Ahhh, the Olds Delta 88 :-)

The second silly thing was a car washing incident. I must have been around the same age. Picture this, a 5 year old helping dad wash the car. At the time, we didn't have a finished driveway so it was basically just dirt and stones. I decide "I'll wash the hood and roof, so off I go. Onto the hood with stones, dirt etc. all over my feet and start scrubbing and washing the hood, roof and trunk of that Delta 88.. Low and behold, scratch and dent city!

Ahhh the Olds, I miss that tank!

How about if you fully detail your mother's SUV for 4 hours, and then a few days later she runs it through an automatic car wash!!!:angry

YES! I detailed my parent's black Saab 9000 and my father takes it to the car wash and then uses the bath towel polyester mixed rags that the cleaning woman uses to clean their house to dry off the car.

these are some of the worst stories I've ever heard. I'm cringing as I read them, covering my mouth in my cube!

I got a nice dent/crease in my WRX in the city one time when we went to the aquarium. I remeber vividly parking next to a huge black SUV and a white cavalier. I remeber thinking that that SUV better not ding my door. I come out, and low and behold, it was the jerk in the white cav that left a nice 4 inch dent/crease in my drivers side door. :angry

It seems we all have a story...so her is mine. 100% true!

I used to work at Crazy Eddies here on Long Island. Well one day the PE (Personal Electronics) girl comes in and parks next to my freshly detailed car. She really wasn't to bright...her knick name was gnip gnop (G nip G nop)or ping pong compleatly backwards. Well anyway, gnip gnop parks her POS 91? Thunderbird next to my car and she attemps to get out. Those who have seen such a car know how big and heavy those doors are... So, anywho, she has her hands full (Coffee, thermos, bag lunch, magazine etc.) and can't push the door open. So what does she do???? Turns sideways and use both feet to give a healthy push!!:scared I stood in the store looking out in total shock!!! I mean at first I went numb...then my jaw hits the floor and then I start to feel flush!:angry She gets out and walks in like nothing happened!!! :nixweiss I could hardly talk at first but man-oh-man when I was able to speak...I could barely control the amount of words that came out. (OK... I had no control of what I said that morning :o ) She ended up paying $250 to have a new skin put on the door and repainted...yup the dent was that big! :angry

To this day I will always remember Gnip Gnop...her size 17 ugly sneaker, her ugly car door, and the dumb look she had when I told her what she had done. The image is burned onto my brain for life :angry

I have several.

1. When my brother was about 5, he wandered into a neighbor's garage, found a can of spray paint and painted the side of their car. If I remember right, it cost my Dad about $400 to have the side of the car repainted...and this was in 1968!

2. One of my customers was chewing out his kid (3-4 years old) because he ran out into the street. The kid picked up a rock and threw it at his Dad's S600 and dented the rear corner. All the Dad did was shake his finger at his kid and told him never to do that again.

3. Same S600, different kid. The car was in the garage and it has a two car bay on one side and room for one car on the other where the S600 was parked. The kid is sitting on the passenger seat after his Dad has started the car. Dad gets a phone call, leaves the car running with the driver's door wide open and answers it (there is a phone in their garage). Somehow, the kid manages to more the gear selector into reverse, and the car backs up, and the open door catches on a pole that divides the two sides of the garage, bending the door backwards almost all the way to the front fender...and yes, these are those automatic closing S-Class doors. Repair bill was around $4000

4. Just this morning. I was washing a BMW X5 for a regular. I normally also wash his S500, but he was moving his office today so he had to leave earlier than normal. Anyway, he is carrying a bunch of stuff to his car, including 4-5 coffee mugs. Sets down most of the stuff on the ground, but clanks the mugs on the rear trunk lid. Puts the other stuff in his car, then drags the mugs off the trunk lid while I cringed. I've mentioned to him several times that when he puts stuff on the trunk lid, it scratches it up, but he continues to do it.

Dude that is a killer story... I totally concur with you.. we have a sickness and the world will never understand.... stand the good detail fight and keep up the good work... If it was my Mother I might be working on how to spend the Will money, hum new PC and more products....lol

Cleanmaxx,

That incident must have been 'INSANE" Good 'ol Crazy Eddie!

Years ago..Many years ago I use to work at Tech HiFi in the high-end department.

Same thing almost happened.. we too had a real nutty girl working part-time and one day brought the L-88 Vette to the store so the GM could see it. She parked nearby, and I warned her about the Vette. She attempts to get out of the Vega, and if I was not nearby, that crappy Vega door would have taken a good chunk out of the fiberglass! I grabbed the door and screamed at her!

I still wish I have that Vette... Killed me to watch it go on the trailer down my driveway as my wife watched and said "that must have hurt huh" She will never know! That was by far my favorite car I have ever owned! Knowing what they are woth now really kills me!

Regards,

Deanski
