‘Goodbye’ Integra, ‘Hello’ G35 ; a buy/sell story

Bioman: Will do!

Lorne: I knew someone would take my persistence the wrong way, and I understand. If you push, sometimes its too far for some. The way I looked at it was, I'm paying $30k+, this is my first new car, I plan on having it for 4+ years...I'm not going to "settle", especially when the "right one" is out there. Thank you for viewing though.

Dean: Armorglove ClearBra goes on this wednesday. It will be professionally installed. Thank you :).

Fuji: I think I am going subtle on this one; M-Sport 19s or G35C 19s. For a while, it will be stock...I went to hardwire my Valentine1 today and didn't have the heart to "open 'er up".

Picus: Thank you ;). The dealership was telling me about how they were easily getting sticker for the M when it came out, many times over sticker, and most likely the same for the new "G".. The new "G" will surely be a stunner, I love the styling.

You're probably already over on g35driver, but if not check it out. Lots of good wheel options; I really like the OEM 19's from the couple on the sedan (like you mentioned), the 19' M wheels (split spoke 5's) look really nice on the sedan too. Oh, and I know this goes without saying but a wheel with a good lip *really* sets it off. Maybe get the 350z springs on there for a little drop... crap, I'm such a bad influence. :)

:bow

Awesome car Sean! That is probably my favorite color in the G35. :)

Do you plan any mods or just plan to keep it stock? Oh, you answered that earlier. ;)

I honestly like the 2006 model better than the 2007, the front hood lid is just too noticeable.

You will be very happy I think. :bestwish

When your paying 34k for something you can be as picky as you want. If your paying 5k you can be as picky as you want. Thats alot of money and you every right to have it just the way you want it. I mean a 99 cent hamburger comes the way you want it!

Will you still be detailing out of it? why not a truck, or was the detailing a temp college thing?

Nice ride, I love the G35's!

Damn just realized I am now bumped to the third cleanest G35 on this board, behind you and Picus! Arghh!!!!

Crap, you're right. Let's get together and wash Sean's car with some push brooms! :getdown

A very big congrats Sean, I won't offer any advice as everyone has seen to that! I agree with you and cj99si. It's your hard earned money and you can be picky as you want. I was the same way with my purchase and will be even more so with the next one.

You picked a great colour and options, I'd have done the same. Hope you're not giving up detailing as you're too good to stop. All the best and love the photos.

How unoriginal, you get his polish and wax bottles, and I'll replace them with bleach :hifive:

:xyxthumbs

#2 here I come!!!

Not sure I can add anything here, but I want to publicly congratulate you on the purchase.

I love to see good people working hard, setting goals, and achieving them. Props to you, and get ready to start "shakin dem haters off." At least that's what we say down hur. :D

Sean,

Congrats on the new toy!! :bigups :wow: Nice choice for a new ride and glad you held out for what you wanted in color and options! It's good to see that the dealer followed your request to leave it alone so you can prep it your way!

Big difference in ride quality isn't it?

For now, while it's under warranty, I'd be very careful as to mods so you do not void any warranty that may be impacted by other factory issues. To be honest, not many warranty problems come from Infinity as they are well built cars.

I'm glad to see you are going to Armorglove to protect the front end on this new car. One thing that I noticed with my film. When the film is warm or hot, a MF towel will somewhat stick to it in that the fibers are left on the film. You'll see very fine fibers when the film is hot. Once it cools, they come off as if nothing happened. I've been finding this on my film when I QD and wipe off the Z8 when it's warm or hot. Not hot enough to streak, but hot enough to just treat now and then.

I guess I'll have to look for this new car out on the road now. :grinno:

Do you also have a break-in period with the car? If so, follow it. After that, drive it like you stole it!! :grinno:

I'm sure you'll park it far away in any parking lot now! :p I do that all the time with the Porsche. All it takes is one A-Hole to ruin a good day and to put a dent in a panel! :furious:

Has the dealer seen it after your detail? I'm sure they would love to have that kind of talent in the prep department. Maybe a seminar on proper prep-work can be worked out with the dealer if he's smart! It will save countless other owners problems on delivery and save the dealer the headaches as well.

Hope to see you on the road!

Regards,

Deanski

Sean, congrats! It's such a great rewarding feeling having just bought a new car and knowing you didn't lose your *** on it. Props to you for buying your car the right way. I loved my G35C, they're just great cars and the transmission/shifter is a dream, and that exhaust note is to die for. Looking forward to watching the progress of your car, even if it's just a few pics now and then of a recent detail.

Congrats on the new car Sean, although I had expected the coupe. To be honest though, I am one of those that thinks the sedan actually looks better than the coupe, so great choice! I've had my G sedan going on 4 years (original '03 model) and it has served me extremely well! I expect you will be equally well served and the joy will continue for a long time to come. You've already got it looking great (as expected) and I know you will feel very proud to drive around town.

I am guessing you have those crappy Bridgestone EL42 tires, which you will come to hate. I just replaced mine last weekend with Firehawk Wide Ovals, and man what a difference! It's just wrong that Infiniti opts to put minivan tires on such a great car! I don't have many other mods, but I do love my 3M window tint. It's great stuff!

Anyhow, enjoy the ride, they are a blast!!

P.S. Don't let the naysayers get you down one bit. A car is typically the second most major purchase in one's life. Therefore, it is your every right to want it the way you like, and no other way. Hell, people stand in line and haggle over a $3 hamburger until it's the way they want it, so it seems that a $30K+ purchase shouldn't be any less than perfect!
