Advice on Wheel Well Cleaning

I would like some advice on cleaning wheel wells. I was thinking of using a tire cleaner and a tire brush. After cleaning I was gone to try spraying it with one of the one step tire cleaner/dressings. Is this a good idea? Do the one steps cause trouble if sprayed in the wheel well? If I apply a protectant after cleaning, what protectant and what do you use to apply it with? Thanks for everybodys help, Wes

i clean my wheel wells weekly....i use a citrus degreaser and a extened arm toilet brush which i purchased from home depot....i then dress with meguiars hyper dressing again weekly...every 6 months I rotate my tires and actually scrub the wheel wells with a tire brush and appy a gel like tire shine endurance....one word of caution this frequent cleaning has led to my undercoat on the paint to be eaten and has left the cars paint to be seen :sosad ..this isnt a problem as i will be applying a black undercoat to it.......oh the madness:D

I clean mine out with diluted EFHI or diluted wheel cleaner, except on the "good" cars where I just use car wash shampoo lest I compromise the wax/sealant/dressings. I usually jack the vehicles up for better access, and yeah, I do this every wash.

I use a combination of sponges, mitts, and BHBs. Nothing that could scratch.

On my own vehicles I rarely need anything stronger than carwash.

When doing other people's vehicles I either use costco APC 10:1 or a high PH wheel/tire cleaner dilluted with water. I of course use an assortment of brushes and mitts to get to the areas.

Afterwards I dress them with meguiars #40 cut 50/50 with water. On my own cars I dress about once a month.
