Advice on the Absolute BEST way to clean windows

I've used the Megs NXT and the DP Krystal Vision side by side. The DP wins in my book although I would consider the NXT to be the best OTC glass cleaner.

Yeah, no need to change your product, just your towels.

for years I purchased just about every glass cleaner available to no avail. the collection became huge. then I made my first investment in mf, and suddenly all my glass cleaners came to life. so for me, mf is the key.

Pakshak Glass Towel.

Perfect Combo :woot:

I also use the exact same combo. If the glass is really filthy, I start with a slightly wet regular (non-WW) MF and dry with an older WW MF. Then I follow up with a newer clean WW MF with the NXT spray. Works really well for me. The only trouble I get is when I am not carelful to clean all of the original grime off near the corners of the glass.

I have also tried IG and the Glass Master on the interior. I think the Glass Master works quite well. My front and read windshields are at a pretty shallow slope and I have a tough time reaching near the bottom of the glass with just my hands.

I have also started using Glass Scrub on my exterior glass with great results. It rains here almost every morning and then clears up to a hot day and bakes the water spots on my glass. Vinegar and AIO did nothing. Glass Scrub took it right off with a single applicaiton and two where it was really bad.

Regarding the "best" technique, I think it depends on your own personal tastes. Everyone has a different tolerance and what they view as clean. In fact, I sometimes just use a slightly wet MF on another family car and just call it good enough. However, on my car, I will notice some stuff that the wet MF will leave behind, that's why I follow up with the NXT glass. I say go for whatever suits your liking (obviously).

FWIW, I've always been happy with the cleanliness and streak-freedom using Dawn in warm water. I soak a cotton cloth and wring it until it's "dry". Wipe the window until it squeaks, and then dry it with a clean dry MF. There's no lint, no streaks, and no funny fogging in damp conditions. The Dawn is strong enough to remove the slime that's outgassed from the plastic. I suspect that the same things that make Dawn work well cleaning dirty greasy dishes make it work well on windows.

Best way to clean glass is to use a good quality MF towel, and use only enough glass cleaner to get the job done. No need to saturate the window.

My favorite combo is:

Eagle One 20/20 or CG glass Cleaner in a mister bottle

Meguiars Duo Fiber Glass Towel (recently discontinued)

That's one of the first MF towels that I purchased, along with their yellow MF. Didn't like it at all. Left a ton of lint and edgeing fell apart after only a couple of washes. Contacted Meguiar's customer service and they sent me a replacement towel along with their clay kit. The replacement towel was much plusher, but in the mean time I had already purchased a bunch of WW MF and liked it so much, I chose to use the Mequiar glass MF for drying my wheels and tires. It actually works pretty well for that use. :lol
