Advice on cleaning tan rubber mats?

I just purchased an Acura with tan, factory all weather mats. The quality of the mats seems good, but they seem to pick up black footprints extremely quickly. The marks don't want to wash off, even with my pressure washer. A magic eraser seems to help, but seems a bit overkill.

Any product recommendations that may help clean them up? I tried some Meg IQD and it didn't do anything, neither did Woolite.

I did a search, but the posts seem biased towards dressing the mats rather than getting them clean.

Thanks!

a heated pressure washer is what you need. regular PW's won't cut it. The other option is a stiff bristle brush and some APC if that dosen't cut it use prep sol. diluted down 3 parts water 1 part prep sol. scrub and scrub and scrub away.

+1 on the APC and scrub brush. Shouldn't be a problem getting the marks off the mats. Good luck.

I agree with the brush and APC. A whitewall cleaner would probably work, but I'd just use a diluted APC. I think 10:1 or 20:1 would be adequate.

I would go the APC route. I have used simple green, megs apc, and citrus degreasers in stronger dilution and agitated with a very stiff brush and the rubber mats come out great.

Tan mats = rubber

Footprints = grease/soil

Personally, I'd use something like Tarminator, Surf City Grime Destroyer, or a good APC.
