What would you recommend if I am looking for a tire shine that gives a rich black, wet look? Extreme high gloss is critical to me. Durability is not, because I wash my tires every 3 days. Thanks.
In my experience you will have to try all the products yourself to see what you personally like the best. I currently have about 4 different prods. I am trying. The glossiest seems to last the longest has to be the Megs high gloss endurance gel. For car shows I have something private label from my local detail product supplier that is the glossiest but doesn't last a day. I am looking for something that will last past the first rain storm which is every day here in the summer.
I find the Gels very messy and they stay greasy if you apply enough for it to look wet.
I love the Autoglym aerosol, as RichPug306xsi suggested. I tried Meguiar's new Hot Shine aerosol for the first time last week. It was also excellent. Both require an initial light coat followed by a gloss coat. Both seem to last through multiple washings and dry to the point I would not call them oily... so they are not dust magnets!
A neater way to apply the AG stuff is to not spray it, but poor some in tub and apply by with a paint brush. FYI Autoglym Tyre dressing is the same as there Vinyl and Rubber care without the lemon scent. I uses Vinyl and rubber on mine as i can get it over here in the UK cheaply in Five litre quantitys.
Megs W Dressing is good too. I initially bought it for other people's cars but liked it so much I now use it on my own too. It dries almost completely but gives a nice sheen somewhere between gloss & satin if that makes any sense.
You can also dilute it with straight water to make it more economical.
