Adams Polishes

Yes guys, the wheel wells sucked, I admit that. Truthfully, this one was on April 2, 2003. I did scrub the wells and powerwashed them, but they were just a mess. This is before I knew about covering it up with some sort of shine product.

John, I agree on the tires. I could yield similar results with Poorboy's Natural Look or Megs High Gloss. I meant for the pictures to really accentuate the Aluminum Polish results.

Nick,
I am very sorry for my last post ... I feel it was uncalled for by me. You do great work :)

Cujo

If Cujo is who I think it is, I'm the guy with the mustang. After his initial visit, I did some experimenting and came to the conlcusion that most of my swirls I had before, were actually caused by adam's products, a combination of his applicator pads and his revive polish. Either the terry applicator was scratching the paint(I used several new ones, testing different sections on different panels), or the revive was not breaking down enough, or a combination of both. The thing is, everything was being applied the way Adam himself showed me how to do it, and I've been using his products for well over 2 years now. I've gotten much better, and faster results with poorboy's and a PC. I do have to mention that the revive works much better with a foam polishing pad and the PC set at 4 than how Adam advocates doing it by hadn though. The butterwax still attracts too much dust for me though :(

Now If I can just find a way to clean the damn glass.

Personally, I think it was user error. Revive has absolutely no abrasives in it, so how could IT produce the swirls? I've done over 25 cars with Revive and haven't gotten the results you have stated? I also use Revive on the PC, and as most products, it does a better job, except I use it at 5-5.5 for it to really work. Did you spray your applicator first? Adam always does that, and MANY people skip that.

PC will always work faster, no matter what polish your doing. I'm an avid PB's user also, and find the products just as easy to work with.

In comparison to Butterwax, what are you using now?

As for glass---go with Brilliance; it does not streak, and does put a protective layer on the glass. It is crystal clear!

Hey, its a truck from my old stomping grounds. :) I was born near Montpelier. My parents lived there when they first got married in fact. Small world....

I just gotta say that I love threads like this! Awesome before and after work!! I wish there was a way to rate threads like this higher than 5. This is educational posting. 'After' pictures are ten thousand times more impressive when you see what it looked like 'before'. :bow

Nick....I just recieved my order from Adams (Detail spray, clay bar, 3 wash mitts, 2 MF waffle weave dry towels, 2 MFs, and a dust brush). I am very pleased with the way the products appear to be made, they seem very high quality. The first thing im going to get to try them out on in an 03 SL500, so ill let you know how they work out for me. Thanks for recommending them.

Oh yea, and them that nick from Georgia sent me:cool

Then why are you complaining about how Poorboy's is difficult? It doesn't get much easier than Adam's or Poorboy's? You have contradicted yourself, bad mouthed both companies, and frankly, I've lost all respect for you on this board.

http://www.detailcity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=33998#post33998

Good luck in your future endeavors!

How did I bad mouth poorboys? I realize that Pro Polish can be hard to use, and SSR1 is much easier for ME to use. I probably am using too much Pro Polish, and that seems to be a common problem, people using too much, and the product being hard to buff off. I'm not the first, nor the only person to experience this on the board. I never said it was a bad polish, I love the clarity it gave my paint.

As far Adam's polishes goes, it could very well be the applicator pad and not the Polish itself, as I stated, I got good with results with the polish and the PC, but still get the same results with the applicator pad. Yes I do mist down the applicator pad. I've gone through GALLONS of his detail spray following his directions to a T, misting the applicator pads to aid in applying the polish, as well as using the detail spray to aid in the removal of his polish, and the butter wax.

Please tell me how I've contradicted myself? And respect? Please, this is the internet, we're all here to share our experiences and results. Because mine differe from others my input is not valuable? You obviously get good results with you use, and I've still learning how to use what I have.

To answer you're other questions, I'm still using the Butterwax as a topper for PWC. As per someone elses recomendations, I washed the car the day after, and dust attraction is far less now than it normally is, though as others have mentioned, that could've been due to static charge.

I will agree with you on the brilliance, I haven't found anything to clean my glass as well, and haven't had a time to pick some up.

I just think you could have handled it in a better manner. I'm not going to get in a pissing war with you on this.....that is what Ford Truck World.com is for. The reason why I said what I said was that you claimed that Poorboy's was THE BEST, and then in your next thread "I'm giving away the Poorboy's". Is that not contradictory? I would have asked questions first before putting doubt in future users.

As for respect......that's what makes DC! If you don't see it, take a good look again. That probably is a bit hard with the 11 posts you have. Why do many of us know each other on a first name basis? My screen name is obvious, but we treat and respect each other here as friends, not internet names.

I might have jumped the gun, but I have the most respect for both Adam's and Poorboy's and wish the success of both. This thread did not start as a Adam's bashing, and I intend to keep it that way.
