Well, it seems Adam`s Polishes, ANOTHER higher-end detailing product company, is testing the consumer market waters at Walmart.
I thought I was seeing things, but there they are. Not a lot of the product line; just a few detailing product items and less than the Chemical Guy`s product line that is already present on the automotive detailing product shelf.
I asked a sales associate if there were plans to expand the product offerings and he stated that this was it as far as he knew and it is a Walmart marketing best-practice to see how a few items sell from a new company before expanding, which makes good business sense (remember Autoglym`s foray into Walmart. No, I do not have my AutoGlym`s High-Definition Wax that, like many of you Autopians, was purchased for $20.00 and then $15.00 when they sold the product line on clearance). I told him they are definitely higher-priced than the usual consumer-line products offered from more main-stream and well-know companies like Meguiar`s, Mothers, Turtle Wax , and Armour-All, and even Jay Leno`s line and Stoner`s , BUT more in-line with Chemical Guy`s. I also told him that Adam`s Polishes are the "official" (yes, Adam`s paid for that endorsement privilege) detailing products for Camaro and Corvettes, and something should be noted on their shelf of that. After all, it is good advertising that Adam`s paid for. I am sure some Corvette and Camaro owners may already know that .
We will see how it goes. So, if you go to the ubiquitous Walmart in your area, check out the automotive car-care product section and see if they are present there on the shelf and let us Autopians know.
Will I buy them?? Not now, at least for me, BUT I do like the option of being able to buy reputable car-care products locally over-the-counter (OTC) as needed.
Will we see 3-D`s GLW line of car-care products on the shelf at Walmart next?? Probably not, since Adam`s is already there, but I am surmising this assessment without knowing 3-D`s marketing strategies or if they have any agreements in place with Walmart.
