New article on Forbes says that Acura and Lexus are overrating their HP numbers a bit. Makes me wonder what the IS300 would rate at under the new SAE standards... I'm curious about some other cars too.

I'm not sure it matters when the IS350 gets a 5.7 0-60.

Got em beat at 5.23. 
Point taken though. There were a few cars whose HP ratings were increased because of the new standards. Who knows...? Maybe the IS350 is one of them and that would account for the numbers.

prefer handling and overall performance over big hp numbers anyday. although 0-60 in 5.7 sounds nice.
anyone know a good reputable website that give performance numbers alongs with driving test.
ive only been reading edmunds lately, along with my monthly of motor trend.

There will be as many ratings as there are drivers. AUTOWEEK got the best numbers in my car so far, but they have also managed to get the worst numbers with other cars. All you can do is read them all and average the results I think. lol

took that off edmunds. pretty weird considering many other places have clearly noted an under 6 second time.

Anthony: The thing I found interesting was that the AutoWeek test LGT was an Automatic!
Regarding Acura/Lexus, it doesn't really bother me. I'd rather look at skidpad ratings, 0-60, 1/4 miles, braking, and other performance numbers.

They were not over rating them. They were perfectly legal and within the old SAE specs. They just had to repost them to the new specs is all. Mazda was adding horses to the new RX-8 when it first came out and they did not meet the SAE specs and had to refund, I think it was $500, to some people.
