Acrylic-Werks Sealant/Polish

That's a good question dr427, and I wonder if maybe they're all variations on the same or very similar formula. I imagine all you'd need to start off with is just the acrylic polymer formula, and then you could add some mild abrasives if you want, or not, and vary the concentration of acrylic just like how BF was reportedly playing around with their polymer concentrations...

This question also brings the issue around AIO, as CarLack in Germany sells a very similar product and so does Menzerna with it's sealant wax (not sold in the US).

I emailed Mark at Acrylicwerks.com in regard to what makes their product different. His response is below and he gave his permission to post it.

My question..........

Hello,

I was just wondering if your product is the same as l&s 501 at mksales.com?

Thanks,

Brad

His response:

Brad,

I've seen and read about their product, but no we are two completely different companies. Acrylic-Werks is still the only 100% water-based polish on the market. I'm still the only company I know of that has clearence to put polish on a commercial airliner, that comes via the M.S.D.S.(Material Safety Data Sheet) I supply the airlines. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Mark G.

Yeah right!

I'd hate to tell them or Mark that Aerogloss is used on 90% of the worlds commercial airlines....it's not marketed to the public at all...but I can tell you I have first hand knowledge...actually put on/ off by mops...

Heck, for that matter ANY chemical used commercially comes with an M.S.D.S!:lol

And also, MKSales is just a reseller of L&S 501 not the manufacture. They just bought the web address ls501.com.

Interesting about the waterbased statement. The L&S 501 guy told me if I wanted to order in 55 gal drums he would actually send 12 gallons of chemicals and I would add the remaining 43 gallons of water to complete the mixture! Would Acrylic-Werks be the only water based still? Not that I would even fathom thinking of buying 55 gallons.

I still wonder if there is a formula floating around (Of German decent) that several of these companies (knowingly or not) are using.

It's also interesting that the Aerogloss, made in Indiana, is diluted with water to use....:hm: did Germany move to the USA

I know we are all wondering about this product and mine should be here this week. I'm going to reserve judgement until I've tried it out. They have a money back guar. so time will tell.

Brad

Thanks for visiting Mark. Autopia.org is a great site with many great people. I can't wait to do a review on your product and I'm sure I will be calling you during the first application. : )

Thanks!

Brad

I've watched these guy put on their dog and pony show for a long time here in San Diego. They have a simi-permanent booth down at the Navy Exchange (shopping mall). I always thought it was kind of funny that they'd hang out selling their polish to Sailors, but what the heck.

I'll stop buy the next time I'm there and pick up a bottle. Ya never know!

Me too.

I just almost placed an order until I seen the shipping and handling charges.

Acrylic-Wërks

Code:AC-001 $29.95 $29.95

Shipping: $8.11

Handling: $3.00

Taxes: $0.00

Basket Total: $41.06

IMO it is expensive to begin with.

I too saw the high shipping charges. The bottles come only in approximatelya 6oz bottles.

It was nice of markaw to respond. At least it shows he is willing to discuss/back his product. I will still wait to see BradNC review before I decide how valid the claims of the product is .

Hi markaw and welcome!

You'll find the Autopia crowd can be a skeptical bunch sometimes, enjoy your stay. :)

By the way, your CAPS lock key seems to be broken.... ;)

To All:

I was not aware pricing for shipping was being added at such a high rate. This is a new host and shopping cart. Please go back and check the adjustments, they should be a little more sensible. The web business is new for my business and I promise to only make it better.

Sincerely,

Mark G.
