AAAAARGHHH!! Can't get the scratches out of my brand new Lexus' clock face.

I got a 2013 Lexus CT200h last month. It came with dealer installed swirls on the paint, which I've chosen to keep until I build some more up myself over the next year or so, but it also came with very light horizontal scratches on the clock/climate control face that were immediately obvious on the gloss black display. I used PlastX, which I have never ever had an issue with, on my softest microfibers to get rid of the dealer-installed scratches. The scratches are gone, but now there are even MORE fine scratches that I can only see when the sun hits it. I've tried three different microfibers and now I am at a loss on how to remove them. Picture below showing how it looks with flash:

These are very tough to get perfect. Try some 205 or Menz 85rd to get rid of the finer scratches. Might have to tape everything off and try a tiny pad with a drill.
 
I can't quite remember the name of it, but there's some stuff made just for jobs like this :think: I don't think it's a Plexis product..?Novus? or something like that maybe? :nixweiss



Never seem to get around to fixing such things on my vehicles :o

Novus. #1 through #3 might be what you're thinking of. Im unsure if it can perfectly eliminate all of the defects though. Those surfaces are so tough to correct.

Why can't you do it by hand? I don't know from such surfaces, but if you can polish fingernail scratches out of the hardest clearcoats by hand I'd think you could do that job too :think: But again, I never tried it....so school me if I'm off-base here.
