A true teaser......sorry Apollo of Canada

Today I did a test on the hood of my truck and did one side of the surface with blitz and the other with the 3M. The hood already had 5 coats of SG on it so it looked pretty good to start with. You know what, the 3m outshined the blitz. I'll keep you posted on durability. Anyone else have similar results? They both went on and came off about the same. Oh and another thing I tried was WD-40 to remove the waxy residue on rubber trim. Worked well.

I have have used the 3M Perfect-It Show Car wax before. It always gave a good shine, but the durability sucked. I did it on a dark green explorer, and it only lasted about 2 weeks at most.

Glad to see your work, Koyaanisqatsi.

Glad to see the experimentation. We all know that Klasse, Zaino, Blitz, etc. are great products. That does not mean that we should become close-minded, let alone reject all other ideas out of hand.

IMHO we should be experimenting constantly. Most of the experiments will be failures, but that goes with the territory. There should be no shame in a "failed" experiment -- because it's not a failure -- it's one possibilty checked off the list, bring us closer to a success.

A few of the experiments will be winners. That's how progress is made.

Keep up the experimentation.

Now, let's see, urethane looks real good on gym floors, I wonder how it would work as a tire gloss. ;)

Matt, aren't you the guy who some idiot scratched your truck up recently? If so, how did your work improve it? Also, what were the products you used again? I truly hope that you were able to get rid of the scratch or scratches. Thanks.

That may be the reason the 3m looked better upon initial application. It was fairly humid when I was doing this. Have you used the 3m Don? Since I wax my vehicle ever 4 weeks or so the durability doesn't come into play as much. And since it's a topper for Klasse I'm not as concerned about protection. I want the shine. It also doesn't stain the trim like blitz. Don't get me wrong I like blitz, but I am always in search of a better mousetrap.

Yeah, I've tried the 3M but eventually gave it away to my cousin. The shine is pretty good but as I mentioned its not durable enough. Sometimes I don't want to add another carnauba coat in this 100-105 degree weather here. So durability is something that I do like and need even if it is over my Klasse coats. Some pretty good alternatives to Blitz are P21 and the Pinnacle waxes. I tend to really like both Pinnacle waxes a bit better though. Now these really give you a nice shine if that's what you're after. Laters.

::cough:: $69.00 ::cough:: :) I would love to try souveran but I would rather keep my testicles. The wife would roast them on the barbi if she found that receipt. :^0

Hehe! I get you. I am by no means wealthy or well off myself. Not even close. But I am single! That sure helps out a lot. Laters.

I'm a big fan of this wax. So is Tom P and Brad B. You won't be disappointed one bit. Tom P. has a few great pics of this wax on his car. Laters.

I just got a can from Tim (Paste Glaz), its still sitting in the laundry room waiting to be tried out. Its not actually mine but I helped pay for it for my god aunt to keep her 92 beige camry in tip top shape inbetween major Klasse detailings.

Once I use it later this week, I will post my results.

It smells nice, really!

Paste Glaz that is

Jason

Jason, you're going to really like this wax. It is a breeze to apply and buff out. You don't have to worry about stains on black trim and rubber. And best of all the shine is pretty darn good. Very nice product in my opinion. Laters.

Gosh with all these good reviews, I can not wait to try it. As soon as rain passes. I will wash the car and wax it with Paste Glaz. Heck I might even do it tomorrow night!

I was called today by a steady client to come and detail one of his new vehicles in his collection, on the phone it was an easy clean up the soot kind of job, when I got there..................I'm going to be busy for awhile.

So here are some teaser pics as I will take more as the job unfolds.
