a soccor moms rendevouz meets bufferbarry

Incredible resurrection Barry!

Ya know... the first thing that came to mind when I saw the "before" shots was that this was a sobering example of what many of us encounter when we are contacted about full/complete details. It's great for new guys to see these and realize that not every job will be a Concours prep of an exotic European sports car.

Great job!

Amazing recovery! :bow

What I find more amazing though, is that you found someone with a soccer mom vehicle willing to pay for proper, high end detailing.

Scott thanks man! i admire the way you do this job highly so much respect to ya!

I know this has been said before but it deserves to be repeated... incredible turn-around Barry! Awesome job! :wow:

No doubt, you've just inspired a rash of "transformation" details all across autopia. :lol We can call this the bufferbarry method!

bufferbarry- Please please please fix your photobucket account so I can see this one...PLEASE!! The written part has me on the edge of my seat (more so than any thread about some exotic sportscar ;) ).

Barry, any chance of getting a few fotos posted when the soccer mom came to pick up her ride? We'd love to see the expression :)

Nice work, very thorough. :bigups

I must say, that thing is probably one of the ugliest cars to come from GM in a long time. Thankfully they did away with them!

All I can say is WOOOOOW!!!! Very impressive.

Hopefully they will keep it maintained now.

thanks josh very much!

Very good job. The soccer mom should not of let it get so bad. She probably has baby wipes with her , she could have wiped up spills on the seats consel and door paneling. Every gas station and convenience store has a vacuum cleaner were she could have at least vaccumed her car out. A lot of gas stations have touchless car washes that if you fill with gas you can get a car wash for $4.00. What im saying that there is no reason to have a very bad car these days Barry you made her car new again.

bufferbarry- Thanks for getting the pics working, wow, great job :bow

Heh heh, I enjoyed this because of your wonderful transformation but my enjoyment was tempered a little because I found the "before" pics pretty sad...I simply cannot imagine anybody letting their vehicle get like that. I bet it that, in a sorta-perverse way, it was kinda fun to bring that back so dramatically.

Oh, and, heh heh, props to you for daring to post a pic where you're having a smoke. In these oh-so-PC times I'm surprised you didn't catch any flak for that :chuckle:

Did you do anything special for the really *black* marks in the interior?

How do you like the little 3" polisher? It looks handy.

accumulator: i did enjoy this one very much! i have a local detailer who just does basic waxes he is mobile unlike me and we are good friends he always calls me optimus prime from the transformer movie. he actually referred this client to me. he told the lady you should call optimus. lol she actually thought that was my name at first. an as far as the cigarette. i work out of my home, this car was smoked in obviously from the photos. ill never smoke during the interior phase of cleaning but when the car doors are shut it was three in the morning when i was polishing those wheels lol i know insane. so my opionion is i am who i am and if you don't like so be it. if i wanna smoke i will lmao! **** i was trained for battle to fight for this country i will enjoy my freedom lmao!!! the interior black marks. i used megairs gold class car wash soap and a fine scitch brite pad! and that little 3 inch polisher is my newest weapon of choice it spins a little fast but it can be controlled! a very worthwhile investment!!! thanks for the the kind words. im glad you enjoyed this more then me!! lol

Ah, OK. The Scotchbrite I can see but I wouldn't have thought to use the GC shampoo. I'll have to keep that one in mind.

Cool. Yeah...I can see where that'd be useful.

Great, great job.

One nitpick, though - When you jack up the car, you _need_ to use jackstands and wheelblocks, and not just rely on the jack itself. Hydraulics can fail, and when that happens, you're looking at bodily harm or new rotors at the very least.

That said, you did a very impressive job.
