The process



Decontamination



Dawn, Megiuars apc, wheel brightner, and hyper wash, claymore medium grade clay.



Prep



3m masking tape, various sheets of paper including 3m 1500 and meg. 3000 i only sanded a few scratches and some old touchup to level it out nothing crazy this time!



compounding



m105 with wool heavy cutting pad via rotary

m105 With Yellow Diamond foam pad Via porter cable using kevin browns method

m205 with black diamond foam finishing pad via porter cable



clean up i consided of ipa wipedown after every step then a rinse!



Interior



i used various brushes, Automagic tornado cleaning tool, air compressor, steamer, and a shop vac, all cleaning was done with meg. apc diluted 10:1



Jeweling

Then i moved to retape and jewel the car down with 3m ultrafina via rotary with 3m recommended blue foam pad.



Wax

first coat consided of colanites 845 insulater wax via porter cable and edge white finish pad 6 inch pad i think lol



second andd third and forth layers were applied via hands using wolfgang fuzion estate wax!



wheels polished with m205 3 inch air micro polisher and yellow foam pad! then waxed with colinates 845 insulators wax by hand. tires were dressed with meg. endurance high shine tire gel!



rear suspenion was cleaned with ardex attack h/f acid the polished and wax same as wheels!!!

Interesting...the back of the spokes is always where I have the most problem...I always figured that's because I don't use HF wheel cleaners...but it looks like the Meg's WB didn't get them either.

The biggest part of my job starts with educating my customer on my abilities to what i can fully do! i try and tell them all possiblities that can happen. Im real big on exsplaining every step to the customer. i want them to fully be confident and educated. so why did i jewel this? because i was paid to my very best! with a good sales line and honesty this customer wanted my best! And most importly they paid for it!
 
Fantastic work Barry!!! very thorough and definitley deserved 'the best'. Someone started a thread recently about not being impressed with high end details and would rather see the soccer mom with nasty befores etc...

I did a wash and wax on an 06 yesterday. Juts like this but gold. It was wayyy better kept than this one.
