A Question About Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell

Does Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell Wax Paste have any cleaners in it? I was wondering this because I am wanting to use it as a topper over another wax I already applied.

I can't think of a single consumer product that claims layering does any good.

None that I've heard of. You should be ok.

I guess I was wrong about it not having any cleaners in it..

According to Turtle wax's site.

Super Hard Shell Car Wax:

Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell liquid and paste car wax products provide traditional clean, shine, and protection that Turtle Wax is famous for. It deep cleans any conventional and clear coat finish, removes surface stains, and contaminants that won't come off with regular washing.

I've been using some Turtle wax the past few weeks. I put two coats on with a week in between, after washing and clay bar. The wax seems to be holding up better than I expected. Rain still beads after a week, with two or more rains in between. The surface doesn't feel that great though. Feels rough and contaminated. I can post some pictures if people are interested.

yep, get some Collinite 845 or 476. Longest lasting AND best protecting finish that I have used. Don't get fooled by water beading thing, just because its beading, doesn't mean its protecting. Collinite stays slick for months.

Yes! Collinite is one of the longest lasting waxes out there. Duragloss #105 and #501 are also very long lasting, especially 105. 501 has a stronger cleaner in it. Car Quest usually has duragloss products.

How does that work? I would think that beading means there's a hydrophobic layer on the paint, which I assume to be the wax. That said, I am planning on using Collonite later today.

Not sure of the physical or chemical aspects but there have been a few different sealants that have been known for their long beading. Same products had bad water/bird/chemical etching problems even though they were still beading.
