00Ranger

Where did my title go?
Anyone every heard of or used this product. They say it is a "polish that is all weather sealant" ..."Turns to glass on your paint".... Contains Glassplexin..... "last up to 5 years"....and is "beyond 22nd century technology"  :lmfao

Edit: Found another website doing a search for Glassplexin...this one says it last 18 months:doh

Tried it - it's OK, but doesn't seem to last longer than any other decent product, which is about 2 months on the horizontal surfaces. I intend to try it again this season, but i'm not expecting significantly different results. A miracle product it ain't. As far as the warrantee goes, those detailing rates are about triple what most charge so the repolishing every 6 months is built into the cost. One more thing - I found it difficult to use by hand without streaking. I strongly advise using a PC with a soft polishing pad like the Megs yellow or you will get a streaky finish. Don't get me wrong - it's good stuff, just overhyped. I might even use it on my brothers new black Volvo S60 just to see how it works.

Here's a quote from a google newsgroup:
I must say - that after reading this - I am 100% convinced............... (That it's a bottle of snake oil mixed with a bunch of bull5h#+)

"The active ingredient in GLARE® is
called Glassplexin®. Glassplexin® is a negatively charged silicate ion.
The paint has a positive charge. When applied, the negatively charged
Glassplexin® exchanges some of its electrons with the positively charged
paint. This chemical reaction creates a covalent bond (the strongest of all
chemical bonds) between the GLARE® and the paint. The result is a new,
deep, rich, slick, wet-looking, hard, non-resinous shield capable of
filtering out UV rays, as well as lasting longer than any other product on
the market, up to 5 years. The paint has a new identity composed of neither
fully glass nor fully paint, but a combination of the two!

We also have
reports from an airline company (as well as a letter from the Los Angeles
Police Department) that GLARE® reduces the drag coefficient so dramatically
that a significant fuel savings was achieved in aircraft. Th
is, of course, would be due to how slick and frictionless the paint becomes
after GLARE®. Top speed acceleration increase was also achieved simply by
applying GLARE to a helmet, and a motorcycle going down a straight. It was
the best looking motorcycle ever tested! Of course we also saw a great
increase in terminal velocity when tested on a race car as well. This is a
high performance product, not just an appearance product. It literally is
kilometers per hour in a bottle. This is new technology never before
revealed to the automotive industry, until now!!!
Be the first to carry this revolutionary product line.
GLARE® Professional Products.

Kenneth Friedl

Speedo goes top secret to develop suit

By Jill Lieber, USA TODAY

After four years of extensive, top-secret testing on three continents, integrating computer technology used in Hollywood blockbusters, Formula One auto racing and America's Cup yachting victories, Speedo says it has developed the world's fastest swimsuit.

Called the Fastskin FSII, or FSII for short, it is expected to be worn by most of the top swimmers on the U.S. Olympic team at the Athens Games this summer, including phenom Michael Phelps.

It will make its first big public splash at a news conference today in New York City.

According to Speedo, FSII, which is made in several variations from a traditional-style swimsuit to a full-body suit with gender-specific and stroke-specific models, increases a swimmer's speed in the water by reducing drag by 4%.

And that could mean the difference between a gold medal and fourth place, Phelps says.

Remember Auri? The infomercial they had on TV where they put a laser on a porsche? Then Acid and metal???

Funny thing is I also rememer a story where the company that let them use the Porsche (and a mercedes I think) were suing becuase they did damage the cars ! :lol
