A Plea For Help!

Just a few minutes ago my good friend, fellow professional detailer, and Autopian called me relating how it was raining and his morning detail would be cancelled.

5 minutes later he called me again to tell me that his work van had been broken into and they stole the majority of his equipment. Ron is about as good of a guy as they come, the type of guy that would walk through Death Valley to bring you a glass of water. He is just having a string of bad breaks and I feel just horrible about the whole thing......frankly I am pissed off at how low some people can get...stealing from others who make an honest living is one rung above child molesters in my book!!!

They stole his buffers, both his rotary and Cyclo, his generator, pressure washer, lines, hoses, a tool box and various odds and ends. My plea this morning is to all my fellow Autopians, both professional and amateur, to see if any might be able to help out in some small manner. While Ron has insurance it does not cover his tools and such. If you feel you can help out, even in a small manner, please contact me. My Email is [email protected]

Thank you very much and I pray they catch these guys.

Just a note...If Ron has renters or home owners insurance and he does not operate his buiness under an entity (i.e. LLC, Corp., etc.) then the tools, equipment and other personal property stolen from the vehicle will likely be covered. I had a similar situation when my vehicle was broke into and my $5k bicycle was stolen while in college. Car insurance would not cover the items "in" the car but thankfully I carried renters insurance which covered personal property.

Just interested.... What is Ron's handle here in Autopia?

His handle is Dent's & Details

Let me also add that by "help", I mean in anyway, including lifting up a prayer for Ron. That in itself is a great help and comfort.

Ron has made a police report and they may try and take some finger prints when it stops raining. The busted windows will be covered by insurance and he is looking into what is and isn't covered by insurance, both car and renters insurance.

I will get Ron a new vacuum, I am calling Irene at TOL about some polishers later. It also turns out that Ron has an old generator and pressure washer that he just needs to get repaired. They didn't take any product, except for the pads that were on the polishers. Thankfully they left his PDR tools!

There is a local corner mart that may have these guys on film so he is looking into that also. As it stands right now Ron may be back on his feet soon so what he may need now more than anything are just some encouraging words to lift his spirits, it has been a rough time for him and his family these last several months. POst them here and I'll make sure he reads them or you can PM or email him.

I really appreciate everyones concerns and prayers, thanks.

Anthony

Good luck to you Ron, you ARE in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you every bit of good luck and success in the future.

Please check PM's.

Geez, seems like a rash of senseless vandalism and now theft. We'll keep Ron lifted up in prayer.

PM's sent......

You are in our thoughts and/or prayers and we all hope that things 'turn around' for you soon.

Anthony, you have an email. ;)

Ron, I'll be praying for you and helping any way I can. Everything will straighten out :)

Hey all, thanks for the response. Autopians in general are great peeps. Ron is trying to get his pressure washer and such fixed right now and I may go and help him get his glass replaced.

To top things off, yesterday Ron removed a ladys dor handle from her Lexus to have it painted for her where a re-paint was bad. He also had to remove her locking mechanism and so as to not lose it he put it in his tool box.

The creeps stole that tool box with the lock inside. So now Ron has to also replace this ladies door lock!!

Thanks again for everything :)

Anthony

I'd would keep an eye out for any new "detailing" business that pops up in the area...

Well it looks as if Ron will get his equipment replaced soon. Family member will send him some money to replace what was stolen.

He is going to try and make room in his garage for the van and perhaps get an alarm.

I thak everyone who not only were willing to send money but also to everyone who sent along their prayers and thoughts of concern. Some folks were willing to loan Ron their buffers, extractors, towels, pads and a host of other detailing goodies. Very cool:xyxthumbs

Ron will be logging on later and perhaps give us an update.

Gonzo, .....my thoughts exactly! I mean sure you can get away with an air compressor or a pressure washer but as soon as I see someone using a Cyclo, which was formerly mine, I'll be sure to investigate. People will notify me if anyone here in San Antonio is ordering Cyclo pads for a Cyclo they did not sell them. I have serial #'s written down so identifying it should be no problem.

Thanks again to everyone who came forth offering help and wishing Ron well.

That sucks. We have been broken into a handful of times over 12 years and it always feels like a kick in the stones.

I've had my car broken into twice as well. You just get such an awful feeling when you walk out and see the broken glass.

I hope everything works out for Ron. :)

Thank you to all for your thoughts and prayers.

It really means a lot.

There is no need to send any money or products please use it to help some one in your area. There are many more people in worse shape than I am in.

At this time last year I was still living in California and if this had happened it probably would not have bothered me as much as it dose now. I moved to Texas for a simpler way of life for my wife and three kids. A place where I would not have to pay $1300.00 a month for my kids to get a good education.

The confident and cocky person I was thought that I would move to San Antonio and clean up in the detailing business. How wrong I was. Things are really starting to turn around now I just didnâ€â„¢t need this to happen.

A long time ago I decided that I should have back up equipment. In California I had two mobile units on the road and could not make any money with them if there were down for repairs. So today I had to pull out my old Honda pressure washer and found out that the coil had gone bad. My backup generator works great just used it while my other was down. So as of now Iâ€â„¢m back in business.

I should have some new polishers by Monday. I will have to dust off my old Bosch dual action for the wax jobs.

God has a purpose for me and a reason for bring me to Texas. One of the best ones is Anthony O. He has proven to me that a Christian life is not boring. He and his family are some of the best people I know. There is no need for them to do the things that they have done for my family but they have and it just blows me away.

Tomorrow I will start my fight again. I still plan on cleaning up in San Antonio but Iâ€â„¢m going to do it with my friend Anthony. :xyxthumbs

Sorry for the scattered thoughts. My mind is like goo

life is tough enough to get along these days without any one trying to upset the apple cart. Glad that you are going with the stiff upper lip. positve attitudes make it better. just going on makes it go away but not forgotten.

take care of yourself and be appreciative of what you have. help is only a pm away.

Ron-

If there is anything we can do, let us know. I know you said that you don't need money but I have been in your shoes and will be happy to kick in until you get back on your feet.

I am praying for you my brother. God teaches me soo much through trials. I hope for your future and your families future. Blessings.

Matt
