The car was washed with 1z Perls via foam gun with Eurow sheepskin mitts. It was dried using Final Detail as a lubricant, with a Pak Shak WW MF and the new Meguiar’s WW MF, which is quite nice and comparable to the Pak Shaks but has better edging. I didn’t get to order the Finish Kare decontamination system in time :wall so I may go ahead and do that at a later date, having to remove all those LSPs I plan to put on the car.
I clayed it with Clay Magic and some left over Final Detail as the lube and inspected it extremely thoroughly. I spent some much time with my nose just about up to the paint looking over every square inch of the paint, when I finally looked up, my eyes couldn’t focus normally momentarily!

Good news, no left over embedded contamination or fallout was present. The clay was absolutely pollution free! I’ll continue for monitor for any signs of that closely.
I spent quite a bit of time removing spot Rapgard residue with AIO. It was a pain because just when I thought I got it all, I found more. It’s clear now to me more than ever before: AIO=godsend. It’s such an easy product to use and with such great results every time! :bow
My dad installed OE polished aluminum door handle guards. They really look sharp and set the car apart from the crowd nicely. :xyxthumbs.
I inspected the car indoors with 1000 watt halogens and 200 and 300 watt incandescents. The paint needed no blemish correction  I then simply applied AIO X2 via PC on speed 2 with a black 6 LC finishing pad. I added two layers of Wolfgang the first night by hand via Meguiar’s Even Coat MF applicator, allowing for each to fully dry. They were buffed off with a DF Towel. Yep, starting to get rather late by the this point. I’ll add some more over the coming days or so and plan to spit shine coats of Souveran as often as I can.
The interior received a quick wipe down with 1:6 Woolite:water solution followed by a light coat of 303. The glass was cleaned with Meguiar’s NXT Glass Cleaner and a Norwex glass MF. It was sealed with AIO. The cabriolet top beads like crazy so I added no protectant. The tires received some Z16 on both sides. Mercedes logo valve stem cap were installed. The wells and undercarriage panels got my still-strong Meguiar’s Engine Kote. :up The engine compartment was dressed with 303. The next day I applied Mothers’ Clear Coat Polish topped with Collinite Insulator Wax to the wheels.
I estimate across Saturday and Sunday I spent thirteen hours prepping the car. Ten of those were on Saturday.
