I didn't see your post before I left Tex so I just search a little got the box for about $18 and the 2pack of Business card holders for $2.00 and double sided tape for $1.49 so I spent just about $22. So I was skimming through the other forums awhile back, looking for some different marketing ideas. i happend to stumble acroos one that involves a "raffle". So here is how it works. Get a raffle box and set it where you feel it would get attention. I will be placing mine in a lube place here in town. I know the owner personally, so it's cool. He wants me to put them in ALL of his places. Think 4 other lube places.
Anyways, what you do is set it up and advertise on it. (Example: 15% off a full detail.) Put some info on there, the drawing date etc.....
When the date comes time to draw, call EVERYONE that has entered! Tell them that they had their name picked for the drawing. The customers get what they want and you get what you set out to get!

Here is a couple of pics of mine. I need to make more. I also need to redo my little info paper up top....

I bought the box from an office store, along with the card holders(2 pack), and double sided tape.
I had to cut the little tab off the back of the car holders so I can mount them to the box itself.

Questions/Comments?

1 question what size is the paper you used to slide inside?

It is 4x6 in size. I printed it on card stock and cut it to size with my paper cutter,

Btw, nice loking box. where did you get the idea? LOL

I love thiis idea. This is something any service type business can benefit from.

If I could make 2 suggestions.First, would be to use the areas of the box that are open(no card holders etc) to display some thumb nail before/after pictures of your work.It gives people and idea of what their vehicle will look like if they win(little do they know, they all win).Second, add a line for their email address so you can contact them when you are running a special.

.
More great ideas! Before and after thumb nails.

The one i always liked and will be trying soon is set up those boxes, and have one at your own store/rig. When people come in they can put there buisness cards in and at the end of the month pick on or 2 and give a free detail. People love it becasue all they do is drop a card in. It already has a name and number to call them and they have to fill nothing out.

I talked to the guys at the barber shop I go to (that services mostly folks in my neighborhood/area) and they're going to let me set up a box in their place. Considering the type of people that live around here, I should end up getting quite a bit of business from relatively new cars out of it :D

that's great! I'll be placing mine today.

So any ideas on what to give out? $15 off any service or what? My cheapest service is $20 which is a Wash-n-Vac
