A little paint advice please

Ive got a bright red cavalier Z24 and the paint is in fairly good condition. Ive already used the mothers step#2 and the cleaner wax on it and the paint shines but I still want a more deeper wetter shine. Will I get the results I want by doing the entire Mothers 3 step system? ( I am a huge mothers fan ) There isint alot of car care products available around here and ive found mothers to be the best so what should I do?? Ive thought about using Meguiars Gold Class wax bit I wasnt sure if it would do what I want.

So should I invest in the other two stages of the mothers system or go for something else for a nice deep wet look??

Thankd in advance.

Damion,

The first step to a deep wet shine is your paint prep. You can rub your arm off applying polish but unless you have properly prepared paint then it is not likely you will get that "wet look" you desire.

You need to level your paint. You may be able to do this with a mild cleaning product, a PC random orbital and either a cutting or polishing pad. I am not sure what other products you have at your disposal but the Menzerna line is a great line to try and use. I am sure you can also order some fine products off the internet.

After you prep the paint then I am sure the Mothers line will work just great.

Hope the helps,

Anthony

Damion - using the cleaner wax after Phase 2 Sealer and Glaze isn't a good idea since the cleaners in the wax will remove the Glaze.

Given your locale, and narrow availability of products, your best bet would be:

wash with a quality car wash

clay

prep the paint (something like Pre-Wax Cleaner)

glaze

wax without cleaners in it

maintain with an instant detailer

The wet look you're referring to comes from the glaze, but it also requires the paint be prepped properly. While using a PC type machine can help, if the paint's in good shape, without major defects, you may not need it - only you can tell by looking, or by posting pix here.

Try claying and a light polish (3M 39009. Mirror Glaze #9, something like that), then the 3 step program, and evaluate from there.

thanks for the replys so the cleaner wax removed the glaze?? all that time for nothing.

I have a random orbit polisher so ill use that with my clay bar and mothers 3 step thanks for the info
