A couple questions on clearkote products

I have RMG and I will use it with a PC, but dont know what pad to use? I was thinking a white LC pad. My paint is black and in good condition NO swirls. I talked to Everette(sp) and he suggested yellow cream wax on top of RMG. I want to put souveran over both. Is that a good combo for deep wet looking paint?

The white LCM Pad is what I use and recommend for Red Moose. Speed 5.5 or 6 on the Pc as well. I'd use Yellow Cream wax on it's own not topped with anything to be honest.

I thought the yellow cream wax was used to make the paint look deeper? Does it help protect also? Would putting a nuba over it give better protection or just take away from the look?

I never top it when I use it. I think you'll be happier if you don't top it but that is just me.

I did a few tests in 2007 with exactly these products. I split my black car down the middle. On one side I applied all three: RMG, then Yellow Wax, then Carnauba Moose Wax. On the other side, I skipped the Yellow Wax and just used RMG and CMW. I found that I did not like the yellow wax at all and quickly returned it as it muted and clouded the finish. For a while, I was happy with the RMG/CMW look. However, after a month or so, I still wanted something that looked better. Finally, I tried Souveran over RMG and never looked back. :D

Why would one use a white polishing pad to apply RMG if you're not trying to do correction? Would using a finishing pad (LC blue or gray) be better?

I guess it depends on if you have correction to do or not? If you use a white pad you will get some fine polishing effect while applying the RMG.

Thanks for the info. guys. I will try the RMG them YM and then Sourvan. I have the YM I might as well try it. I will try and post some pics in the next couple weeks. Its cold in southwestern PA now.

I normally use an LC blue finishing pad with RMG.

I have one more question. When using with a PC do I break the RMG down like a polish? Also I could probably use some minor correction for it to be absolutely perfect. I have driven it in the pennsylvania weather just not that often.

This might sound dumb but.... So you dont have to work it like i polish? Just a couple passes then it disappears? Is it fairly easy to use? I am not a pro by any means. Thanks

Hello!

Your correct, there is no real working so speak. I dont have UDM/Megs polisher (yet!) just a cyclo so i cant tell you what speed to put it on with.

But basically i apply it to the pads, spread with the machine off, turn it on and do a quick pass to even it out and then ust move over the product again i suppose normal speed and as my buffers pass over there is little residue left. If you apply to much you might want to back over it again, it only creates a little bit of dust.

Maybe a UDM/PC user can chime in just to get this guy in gear for applying? :work:
