A couple of quickies...'06 Acura RL and '05 Cadillac Escalade

2006 Acura RL. Brand new, decent shape except for some grit on the horizontal surfaces. The owner wants to talk to the dealer first about them paying for me to clay the car, so I just did a QEW wash and topped it with Zaino Z-8 Sealant Spray so the car would have at least some protection for the next few weeks. Z-8 noticably improved the wetness of the paint. Oh yeah, fresh coat of Souveran on my 626 in the background. :)

=============

2005 Cadillac Escalade. Regular customer, car last polished and waxed in late August using Poorboy's PwC and Natty's Blue-then was involved in an accident at their kid's school not more than an hour later. The dealership fixed the rear bumper and driver's side rear quarter. They definitely left some problems (orange peel, swirls, overspray) that they corrected halfway decently. Paint continued to bead nicely though-they obviously left the rest of the Escalade untouched because there weren't any swirls except where they repainted, although the ice, snow and sand in mid December took its toll. The paint was still beading okay with a QEW wash but slickness was way down. I figured since the owner had just given me a very generous Christmas tip, the least I could do was toss on a coat of Optimum Car Wax since I'd rather wait until after the threat of snow/ice and sand covered streets before doing any paint correction.

Anyway, QEW wash, Optimum Car Wax. Quick, easy and nice results.

They were stunned by the results from a spray wax!

Looks good as usual. My aunt and uncle were stunned by OCW too. How did you like the interior of the RL? Those things are nice.

As always great work. I recently tried OCW for the first time and I too was rather amazed at how good it was. Due it being a spray wax I expected it to be an inferior product. It's definitely not though. I originally bought it to do jambs and wax "touch ups" but ended up using it on my whole car. I'm not sure if I'll keep using it as my LSP once it gets warmer, but it's great to use when it's cold because it takes a little less time to apply.

Nice depth on the Acura. Reflections on the Escalade aren't lacking either, never noticed their exhaust tips pointed to the side.

Great work Scott. Is the owner of the Escalade the same one that owns the red Lexus SC 430 that you do??? I think I notice it parked in the garage :)

The interior is pretty awesome in the RL. DVD audio too, I believe. Whatever it is, the sound is the best OEM system I have heard. :)

Rich-I was in a hurry last time I washed and waxed and next to S100/P21S, you can't beat Souveran for ease of use. The incredible depth and liquid look kind of help too!

Pat-yes, same people. They also have a red Hummer H2.

So the question of the day...

Z8 or OCW for a spray sealant?

I like both products very much but OCW is more durable and at $30 a gallon, significantly cheaper. However, alternately layering OCW and Z8 =

You can see him down by the corner of the head light.

And I'm jealous you have your sunroof vented today :(

And the cars look great. :) I need to try OCW.

so what were you standing on to take this pic??

On my ladder.

Corey-OCW is an awesome product. Menzerna 106FF topped with OCW x 2 on the Rolls I do looks amazing. :) I couldn't be happier with not only the ease of use and decent durability but the flat out terrific look it gives.

My vented sunroof should come in handy all week, upper 60s to low 80s forecast for the Dallas area. :up
