a better way to apply spray detailers

I use a 500 g microfiber towel to apply spray detailers...I end up with a nicely soaked MF at the end and a thin coat on detailer on the car. Seems like such a waste...anybody got a better way?

I use this really nice thick, small, sponge from TuffShine.
It is very dense and does not absorb much product.
It is soft, and flexible and the right shape that can get into about every kind of angle on a vehicle and apply your product.
It is big enough that you can get a good grip on it and it wont fall out of your hand and drop on the floor.
It is very inexpensive, and does not break down and turn into sponge dust...
They sell them here... http://www.autopia-carcare.com/tuf-shine-applicator.html

i use the grey towel from AG , i think its 530, haven't noticed any trouble putting on qd with it

what qd are you using?

i have noticed when i use the 600g chinchilla towel it is just too plush for qd's and doesnt work well

I know what you mean Glen, but there probably isn't any other way to spread it evenly. Yes you end up with just as much in the towel as there is on the car. The manufactures like it I'm sure.
