the client was getting the paint shield fitted to the car down in edinbrugh and wanted us to go down and make sure the front end was perfect before the film was put on

so 3 weeks ago our client phoned to say the car was getting dropped at aberdeen in 2 days 2 weeks early lol so everything had to be moved forward

so off down to the big city to make sure the front was spot on for the film 3hr trip LOL

here`s some pics of day 1

the film has to be left for 2 weeks so i had to wait 2 weeks to do the rest of the car

so last weekend i popped through to Aberdeen to finish it off

first off washing the car

citrus cleaner

then foamed and left for 5mins

then i rechecked the paint work and the paint was in good shape but there was a few problems with the film that i found so now the film has to be redone also i felt that the film made the paint look even more OP

so the 997 was tapped up and out with the makita and the 3m polishing pad, then out with the menzerna final polsh

after the polish it was time for the HD cleanse and vintage

all windows were treated to HD cleanse

I always wondered about that. With any of those films (3M's comes to mind) how is it treated after application? Can it still be waxed/polished/etc. ? Is there a noticable difference between the film section and the unprotected parts? Is there a line?

I was debating putting the protective clear bra on my own car but decided against it.

Been looking at some of the cars you have detailed and everytime you impress me more and more, great job.

Just wondering when it comes to detailing badges and stuff like the back of this car with the GT3 badge, how do you detail around areas like this.

for the rear badge the badge nwas tapped up while i was polishing and at the end i go over all badge`s with a make up brush as these are very soft

when we first got a job with the 3m film we got intouch with 3m

they said that the film gets a coating of clear coat so you can polish it and wax it like you would normaly do but you have to wait at least 2 weeks for it to settle

they also said that the edges are thinned down so there is less of a chance of seeing the edge

this 997 had the pannels at the front were fully covered and i noticed once it was on i could see orange peal in the film

I noticed the massive amount of foam when you wash your vehicles. Are you using a foam gun to achieve this?

Great job by the way. I've looked a few of your threads, and you do awesome work. Keep it up!! :hifive:
