99 Porsche Carrera Restoration by "THE BING"

Lone Wolf. How are you applying the Blitz?



With wait time or no wait time when buffing.



I am going try to treat the Blitz like the Zymols and P21s

and not wait. Want to see how it works out.



Blitz is bear when you let it dry to white haze.

I let Blitz frost over about 15 minutes like the can suggests. I actually noticed it was frosted about 5 or so minutes after it was applied, but I let it set longer anyway just to harden better. It wasn't very tough to remove for me, maybe a little harder than Zaino. Blitz is certainly easier to remove than Meguiar's #26 or Gold Class, which I used for years.



How thick did you apply it? I used a very thin coating, which helps with removal.
 
Medium.



But I'm gonna be a rebel try blitz with No wait time

just to see.



I like working wet wax in with MF's. [ eg. Collinite and p21s ]



Feels like butter.

I wait about 3 min after application before removing it. It comes off extremely easy this way. basically I just wait until it starts to haze..then I start removing it..I used the PC to apply it but usually I use a foam applicator.

How would you rate Blitz against Collinite or P21S as far as shine and depth? I'm thinking of trying Collinite in the future...which Collinite are you using?

mention this because I use a system of all three.



First is Collinite Marque / 915. [ use this for protection ]

Second is Blitz. [ use this for depth and warm look ]

Third is P21s. [ use this for reflection / don't look at sun's refect]



I may switch the Collinite and Blitz sequence to compare.

This 99 Carrera was brought to me for a full restoration. The owner inhereted it from his father and wanted it brought back to it's former glory.

I removed the original emblem to polish out all defects. It wasn't easy removing an eleven year old emblem.

My god! What happened to that thing? Looks like it was washed on a regular basis with the 2BM (2 Brillo Method). Those 50/50 shots really tell the story Richie.

If you don't mind me asking, what products did you use. Also, what is the procedure to remove the badges?
 
Another reminder why I need to spend more time in the shine and show section. Wow that is really a stunning turnaround on probably the most handsome of the 911's!

Mission accomplished and then some. There is no way that Porsche looked that good the day it was born.

How long did the wheels take Richy? I'm guessing more than 1 hour apiece.
 
Amazing work, I get so motivated when I see write-ups like yours. That 50/50 shot of the hood is simply stunning.

I can really appreciate the effort you take in removing the emblems, I know how cumbersome that can be.
