It was in the mid 40s today, so I was more than willing to detail something. Today's detail was a 99 black Alero.



Wash w/ NXT soap

Mothers Clay w/ NXT soap and distilled water for lube

AIO by PC with a Meg's 8006 polishing pad on speed 3

WG High-Gloss Sealant by hand

The WG sealant claims to leave behind a very slick finish, and it delivered. The slickness is not quite as slick as UPP, but close. :up
 
Very nice! I've used that combo on black too and I really like it.



I can't believe you are detailing while snow is still on the ground!
 
There's only a foot or so of snow by the driveway :rolleyes: :)



It was 45*F today Scott! That's ~15* warmer than average for this time of year!



And BTW, the tires have WG tire gel. I'm quite pleased with both of the WG products.

That's just because you're one of those Texas "pansies" -- here in the midwest we're hardcore... have to be considering the climate. I did some stuff today as well with still ~2" of groundcover. :p

There are 4 "pads" of bricks on the lawn that the minivan's tires are parked on. That way it doesn't sink into the mud I guess. It's only a one-car-wide driveway, so it's nice to have one car out of the way. Otherwise we had to move all three cars sometimes just so the first car could get out.

It has plenty of swirls, but we agreed that it would be best to just leave them until it's warmer, since the owner takes it through car washes. I think he's going to start washing it by hand once it gets warmer out, and then we can take the swirls out. I just didn't see the need to polish the swirls out, just so there could be more swirls in a few weeks. :nixweiss

You have your crappy weather season and we have ours. As much as I hate 30s/40s for detailing, I think I would hate 90s/100s a lot more.

Depends on humidity. I can do 90s and 100s if it isn't very humid.
