98 Z28 got a full wetsand and buff (~50hrs and pic HEAVY)

While I've only used an air buffer for a short amount of time, I must say that I like the electric buffers better.

The air powered ones tend to get "cold" after you use them for a long time (especially if it's cold outside), and if you have moisture in the air line, it could leave a little mist of moisture/air compressor oil on the paint (depending on the model of buffer).

Plus, they require more maintenance (oiling, cleaning, etc), and you've always got that blasted air compressor running in the back ground.

It is a little lighter, and slightly more manueverable (depending on who you talk to)...so, there are pluses and minuses for each product but I think there are slightly more con's with the air buffer. ;)

Hope this helps out!

I went to the link and read it. the author stated air powered do not have much maintenance and electric doooo.

How many have ever had their electric one break?

How many have ever had their electric one break? [/b]</blockquote>My PC is so new that it has barely broken a sweat, but I guess under commercial/professional use, they would need brushes, bearings and such replaced regularly

The owner of this Camaro contacted me after having his car repainted recently and requested a full wetsand and correction. He drove it up to the Bay Area (several hours) and left it with me for about two weeks while I did my thing to really bring out the potential of this car. When I saw it, it was totally lacking in any clarity to the paint and had horrific swirls and holograms from the body shop, along with tons of compound left in nearly ever crevice on the car. I had my work cut out for me.... It was intended as a one week job but turned into two weeks when I saw just how much needed to be done.

Here are the pics he sent me before driving up:
