'95 Pathfinder - QEW and Klasse Job

Had some time to do a nice detail for my girlfriend. I clayed, polished, AIO/SG back in Early January. Paint was still slightly slick to the touch after the QEW. I then did a coat of SG (Bill North Method).

After QEW (sorry about the grainy pic)

Not bad for 9 year old paint, but it still doesn't have the 'life' to it I wish it did... :nixweiss . I'll have to use NXT, then a carnauba topper. Hopefully that will get the depth and wetness going. :D

Maybe the pictures are giving you more credit than you are due, but it looks to me like you *did* get some decent pop out of that Nissan paint.

1) What did you use on the trim, because it looks great.

2) Do you have to attend your ladyfriend's FH games, and if so, do you even begin to understand the rules?

In the shade, the paint looks great...I admit that...but in the sun, it seems to drown out instead of SHINE back.

On the trim in the past, I have been using West Marine's Vinyl Protectant (their version of 303)...works really well, but ran out. When I QEW'd, I topped the tires and plastic trim off with Armor All...2 coats, let dry and give a slight buff off.

thinksnow: FH games?

I assumed from the plates that she was a field hockey player. My better half played and had a similar plate (with 16 instead) during the college years.

Ice Hockey. She played most of her life and then played for a prep school and played with Team USA as well. I didn't know her then, but am very proud of her accomplishments. She stopped right before college because it was becoming too much. Oh and if you're wondering, she doesn't look like the typical women's hockey player :D.

I guess she keeps the plate for memories, but I have to say...You are the only one (I know of) who has ever asked Field Hockey...lol. Everyone tries to be funny and say "hickey" or something like that.

Nice job on the Pathfinder! Maybe when it warms up you may want to try using a stronger paint cleaner than AIO, and that should add more depth and pop to the paint.

Cute g/f....no wonder you detailed her Pathfinder for her!

When I did the detail back in January I hit the paint up with SFP x 2 on a Lake Country White Polishing Pad and a Makita rotary. It went from a ton of swirls, to none. I think the paint is just old or I'm comparing it too close to my 8 month old paint job. :nixweiss

Any ideas to get it poppin better? I'm gonna top it with P21s and hope for the best.

Today I did a coat of S100 over the SG x 2.

Came out great and have gotten a lot of comments on it. I knew the S100 would do me right. :D
