93 Swirlonda accord! DACP-PwC-S100

03COBRA

I miss my 03 Cobra......
Well my Aunts birthday was coming up and she had wanted to get here car detailed for a while now. So I decided to put what I have learned thorugh this website to work. So I started this morning around 8 AM, I had looked at her car and wondered about doing it before. But I have never looked at it up close. Man did this thing have some swirls, she takes it through the gas station car wash all the time. That had it's ups and downs. The up being that there was no need clay, very surprising, bad it had a ton of swirls. Anyways, thanks to EVERYONE for their ideas and help!! I think if Scottwax sees this, he may just may burst into tears at the before pics. Let me know what you guys think, this is my best work to date!!!

I guess that I could have used the clay, but the paint felt very smooth. Do you think I should still have done it? I just didn't feel it was necessary.

smooth paint doesn't = clean paint, but it is too late now and your work speaks for itself.

Next time clay regardless. If a spanking new car needs claying, imagine what's on an 11 year old paint.

Very good job!!!!

Good point T! I guess I should just clay no matter what. Thanks for the tip, I will keep that in mind!

Wow!

Amazing work!

She must be happy :)

Thanks GSR. She is very happy. She tried to offer me $50, but this was a B-day gift for her, and she is family anyway and I love her to death. Funny how word of mouth gets around. I have both of my uncles lined up for the next 2 weeks! One is another B-day gift, and the other I may just chage, we'll see!!

Okay, now that I have taken a shower, eaten dinner and done the laundry, I can now see most of the pics...still timed out on the last 2 though.

That is an amazing improvement! Great side by side shots too.

Thanks for all of the compliments guys. I thought the side by sides may be a real dramatic thing. And for Scottwax, sorry they are so big, I will make my pics smaller next time!!

Hey, I have Photoshop, I don't think I need that!! Thanks though!

It is worth the download. You could take those pics to around 60 kb with great clarity!

BTW, I saw my old Accord today driving down the street about 4-5 miles from where I live. Still looking good, but even though it was raining, it wasn't close enough to see if the NXT was still beading. :p

I didn't know you sold your Accord. Now just the 626 huh? Did the new owner ask how you kept the paint in such good shape, or did he know what you did before he bought it? That truly is a great color for sure. Once the polishing was done it was nice to see the flake come out and see that deep red color!

He just wanted a car that had a good engine and a/c. The fact that he could buy a car that looked pretty good was icing on the cake. I saw it this morning going east through an intersection I was stopped at heading south. Kind of weird seeing someone else driving it.

I agree that the color looks terrific when it is polished out. It almost has a candy look to it.
