914 Rinseles Question

Hey Nick - first of all I Love N-914! Thanks for all the hard work that when into producing it. Question/ request - any chance you could make an odorless version for us guys w/ sensitive noises?

I`m with you on using a 2nd bucket when doing rinseless washes with a washmitt vs a pile of single use towels. Doing so helps keeping your wash media cleaner just as it does for conventional washes.

But I was gonna use it in a regular wash

1 oz in 5 gal of soap water.

I`ll use regular water for a rinseless

OK guys, how is N-914 as a pre-treat? I usually use some CG Hose Free (about 16oz left) or ONR before I start washing either method.

Never tried the cg stuff, ONR leaves stuff behind.....

But I can`t answer your ? since I didn`t pre treat anything.

Sorry. But if I feel the need to pre-treat I use bug squash.

??? If one is using this stuff in a traditional bucket wash, and ONLY using 1 mitt, is there any concern that the encapsulating properties and all the affinity of dirt, will sort of be in the mitt regardless of rinsing in the rinse bucket ? Or does the mitt rinse just as clean during the wash process...

I may be very off base, as the only experience I have with using this stuff is for bird bombs mixes.
I need my free flowing water...

Man when I lived in Fl I made the mistake of washing my truck in the sun, holy hell, it was like chemical warfare, I had to KAIO the whole thing to get the crud off. Ron you be careful, the water is dangerous!

I`ve used it 3 or 4 times prior to rw on my car but only once as a true pre treatment as the other times I hose rinsed and then sprayed n914 at ww ratio liberally and then rw.
i even use the ww ratio as drying aid

why not? one oz makes 1 gallon :)

Brandt - as you know how our water is around here (get mine from Manville, so well water) just rinsing with a hose is not the same as the pressure washer. For most RW, I pre-treat since the cars are 24/7 outside gathering all kinds of airborne crud in addition to road grime from all the construction around here. Looks like a foam canon is in my future and some new products to go with that. Just trying to be careful with my cars so they last longer and look better than the average joe out there.

we will just have to disagree on this
:)

No, no...I must`ve expressed myself badly :o I genuinely want to know why you`re doing this and I`m simply not figuring it out on my own! It`s not like I think you`re, uhm...?what?...doing it for no good reason or something and I`m [ticked] off at myself for not getting it :o

Huh, never would`ve thunk it as the rinseless stuff I`ve used tend to make contamination *adhere* to wash media, the ONR much worse than IUDJ, but that too to come extent. I actually think of such products as working by "transfer the dirt to the medium, to which it adheres so it comes/stays off the paint". Not that I`m any authority on RWs by any means!

It does help keep your wash media cleaner (using some in rinse bucket)

But I specifically want to add it to wash/soap bucket to soften water some.

Huh, OK.

Guess it never occurred to me as I never have appreciable dirt in the rinse buckets (honestly can`t remember the last time I`d call my rinse water "dirty").

Thanks for schooling me, sounds like I was 100% wrong!

I find that rubbing my wash media against a grit guard washboard (or plain grit guard) helps tremendously to remove any contamination. Next time I do a RW I`ll make sure to take a photo of the rinse bucket next to the wash bucket. Wish I had this last time - my rinse water was noticeable grey.

Interesting thread......

I was always under the impression said waterless products were like magnets ---encapsulating the dirt and the affinity of then attaching to the wash medium as you ran the towel off the paint. Hence, the reuqirement for many clean towels, etc, etc.

Are we basically concluding there are benefits to using it even in regular bucket washes

Waterless v. Rinseless..........

Also, good wash media will release the dirt when re-soaked.
