Recently completed job in the shop, this vehicle came to me from the Ferrari Owners Group as I donated a complete correction for their charity a great cause. The entire vehicle had been re-sprayed and suffered from many issues that will be shown in this write up.

At the onset of the job starting with a thorough wash/decon procedure.

010.jpg

Right into it, severe defects such as holograms, sand scratches and deep tracers on the finish.

011.jpg

013.jpg

Initial aggressive compounding with M101.

014.jpg

One of the most challenging aspects of this particular job was the severe defects on the clearfilm, the worst I have encountered and since the job was for charity and had "Nothing but time" I decided to go as far as I could knowing if the film was damaged it could be replaced.................saved the client some big money in this regard.

50/50 correction pics of the film.

During one of the late evenings I needed a break from the heavy correction and turned my attention to the exhaust, riddled with water spots and "Blueing" I promised the owner it would look much different when he saw the car the next time.

The job is top notch as always. In your estimate, how much faster did you finish compounding with 101 vs 105? Assuming that you use 105. :)

Incredible Correction and amazing attention to detail. Thats how its done folks! Study this detail newbies. A true expierianced detailer at work here. Congrats Bob. I love to give back as you did for charity. Its jobs like this when time isn't an issue that really brings out the best in us!

WOW.... ummmm, WOW.... Those appeared to be some pretty gnarly sanding tracers - nice of them to go right to the edges for you.

Props to you for giving back and doing charity work like this!

Awesome work Bob! Man that thing was trashed! Great attention to detail and the fact that you put this much work into for charity say a lot about the type of person you are!

WHAT????

I'm glad I got that Carrera GT posted. I don't want to put up a write-up within a year of this thing going up. How is anyone supposed to compete with that?

50/50 on the clear-film? Sun shots... ON THE CLEAR FILM?

Oh man, that lift has to be clutch. Do you inform customers you'll be using it? I could see many people freaking out over that.

What is there to freak out over? Do those cars never require service? Never need their tires changed or rotated/balanced?

Any other type of automotive service makes use of lifts (I've seen mid-rise lifts exactly like Bob's at Discount Tire/Belle Tire, for example) so why should detailing be any different if there is enough room for it and a desire by the technician to make working more ergonomically friendly?

It's really no big deal as long as you know how to load a vehicle onto the lift safely and properly.
