Well I was bored today so I decided to go out and test 10 of my waxes/sealants on my mom's 05 Toyota Corolla. (I actually used 10 waxes/sealants but for some weird reason the before/after shots of Poorboy's EXP didn't come out clear at all... hence the 9 in thread title)
The car has never been detailed or waxed and, as you'll see in the pics, it's in pretty bad shape (I'll detail it in a month or so and post pics again)
Products used were KAIO+SG, KAIO, KSG, Meg's 21, Meg's 26, Optimum Car wax, P21S, NXT, Natty's Blue... I used m/f towels to put the stuff on and wipe off... all of them were left on for about 10-15 mins to dry. Before applying anything, roof was cleaned with Meg's #34.
I did this just to see how much stuff each of these can hide... I used KAIO just to see if there was a big difference between just waxing, or cleaning with KAIO then waxing... there was!

I know there are many variables here, such as the place where the pic was taken on the area for each LSP, but I did try to use the middle of each area just to have somewhat of a consistency...
I rated them like this... not according to only the photos above, but what I saw in person...
1. KAIO+SG
2. KAIO
3. Meg's 21
4. NXT
5. Meg's 26
6-9... KSG, P21S, Natty's and Opt Wax all looked very similar in person and each added a very similar level of gloss to the bad paint... I would say P21S, SG, natty's, then Opt in terms of shine, but it was very minimal.
I concluded that, even if there's no plan to polish/fully detail the paint, a paint cleaner/polish like KAIO is important prior to sealing the paint because, as seen in the pics, it cleans up very small swirls and all of the oxidation/fading present.
Also, it appears that Meg's has some nice fillers in their LSPs, which helped hide some of the swirling.
Well, hope this helps someone... like I said, I was bored and decided to see how different LSPs behaved on a badly conditioned 05 Corolla... no hard facts here, just observation...
