8 Yr. old S-10 paint--VM/EX-P, pics inside......

03COBRA

I miss my 03 Cobra......
Well my girl has a 96 S-10, had some heavy oxidation on the hood of the truck, never thought I would be able to get it out! Got it out of the fenders and all, now the truck shines very well all the way around! But you know the best part about it, was one of her co-workers asked if she had her truck painted over the weekend, because the shine is amazing! Man what a feeling, you guys that are detailers for a living must love to hear that all day long! Thanks guys for all of the tips, and let me know what you think of the pics, does the finish look wet!! Thanks!

I was thinking about useing EX-P for a sealer then toping w/S100. Now I don't know if I will need the S100!! Very nice finish!

it seems like everyone in the fourm area is doing great w/ VM, but not very many people recomend it in the review section. What is up with that?

O4cobra, that S-10 turned out really nice! You mentioned that the paint finish was in pretty bad shape, do you have any before pics?

mnbv, I just detailed a 96 4Runner yesterday. I polished then followed up with EX-P (by PC on 1) and then latter followed up with S100. The owner said that he could notice a difference with the S100 but I couldn't :nixweiss which surprised me since usually S100 makes a big difference topped over about anything in my opinion. Maybe it varies by color, I don't know. Look for pics of the 4Runner in Click & Brag tomorrow if you want. I should have them up by then.

Hey RobertM, the only before pic I have is the 1st pic, the part on the bottom right of the pic is the before! That I guess is oxidation, it was all over the cab, the roof and bed were in ok shape!! It took a little bit of work, but I'm very happy with the results!

Some reviewers have agendas, IMO. I normally find that a product that is widely used and liked on the boards tends to be pretty good.

O4cobra-excellent work! VM really does a great job cleaning up paint and it really eats oxidation.

Dude, the truck look real nice:xyxthumbs

Truth be told, I've never used VM as a cleaner, or swirl remover. However I do find when I have applied it, that it does give a nice slick look to the paint surface, whether by hand or PC. I've topped it with #16, EX-P and just recently WG on my car. In every case, the look is much wetter than when I have applied the wax or sealant with AIO or just on top of a freshly polished surface

4" Front 6" Rear!! Can't really go any lower, the truck has 20's in the back, and 19's in the front!
