626 from hell! Before and After

She said "Oooh all shiney!" unfortunately it was dark so she didn't get the full effect of the transformation. That and she's just trying to make someone interested in buying it so she really didnt care, I prefer doing people's cars that they actually plan on keeping and that they thought could never look that good again THOSE are the reactions worth remembering. Anyone who details other peoples cars either as a hobby or a living knows exactly what I mean.

ahunt- once I washed and clayed it, it looked....exactly the same. Literally the marring was so bad that the paint had no life whatsoever it was completely flat, you know, the kind of swirls you dont even need sunlight to see.

Its actually kind of funny, this was the worst car I've ever done. I've rarely seen a car, any car, in as bad condition as this one was. Driving around tonight I was trying to find something as bad, and I couldn't. Reevis is right, cars around here are pretty rough, the beltway and all the trucks, plus they way oversand everything makes cars look real bad this time of year, but not as bad as this car was...

Oddly enough the interior wasn't that bad, she must have pretty regularly vacuumed it out at gas stations or something.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Steve-be glad that car is the worst you've come across. I can only wish some of the POS's I have done looked that good to begin with.

Not to hijack, but those pictures Scott are why I only detail German cars.

For some reason the owners of MB/BMW/Porsche/Audi tend to treat them better. They still treat them like crap, but they don't let them get like THAT.

Luckily I have a day job so the detailing is just to make money to buy photography equipment.

GoodnClean, yeah it was pretty rough looking lol. I'm not sure if I understand your post 100%, but you just washed/clayed/put one coat of NSX on and it came out that good?

I've heard some mixed reviews of NSX's swirl hiding abilities, but if that is after one coat...then damn that's good. Beats the hell out of Z5.

Apparently you never saw Anthony Orosco's thread about a Mercedes he detailed.

You would be suprised to see some of the high end stuff I have done that is trashed. S600's with light grey interiors driven by a chain smoker do not look nice inside.

Scott,

thanks for NOT posting the pics of barfed up back seats and stuff like that..

As for the big muscles, I can attest to that. Scott has done my cars and my mum n laws too. I even tried to get him to go to the "dark side" and let him use my PC on my Mustang before I sold it. I thought I had ruined the hood by using TW Rubbing Compound on it:shocked . But he brought it back to life along with the rest of the paint.. He is great:xyxthumbs

But one of the best pics I have is when he did the engine detailing on my Lightning.. It is still beautiful:bow

Oh no, NXT is a good product but its not magic. I washed, clayed, buffed with DACP and a yellow pad, 2 or 3 passes in some areas, then topped with NXT.

whatd you end up charging?

I charged her $150 which is what I usually charge people for a full detail which includes washing, claying (I clay when I wash so its not much more work) polishing/waxing and as good an interior detail as I can do without an extractor. Usually takes me about 3 hours so its a pretty good hourly rate for doing something I enjoy. This one took about 4 hours...

I detail an Expidition 3 times a year that has so much dog hair in it when you open the doors on a windy day, tufts of dog hair fly out of it.

On my car, 10, but on a car for money, you've got to do work compensorate for what you're being paid. She definately got a deal on that job for $150.
