50% off Lake Country Pads at TRC

Just received an email that TRC is having a 50% off sale on all Lake Country pads. I`m set on LC pads myself but that`s a good stocking-up deal if I wasn`t.

That sounds too good to pass up--on a secondary note, they must really be trying to reduce their inventory, like maybe they are going to drop LC, since they have every LC product on sale.

EDIT: Well, that went fast, put some things in my cart, got up to do something, came back to check out and one of the items was sold out already.

Damn, that sucks. Late last year I stocked up on LC SDO`s (my std) when another site was having a big sale but not at 50% off. I did just add some Buff & Shine Uro-Fiber MF pads as I have a project that I believe would be too much work/wear on the LC SDO Blue for the initial cleanup. Oh - looking at TRC I see the LC MF pads are flagged as OOS, I guess that`s what your were looking for? Have you used those before? I`ve only used MF pads once, and it was during a detailing class and they were the Uro-Fiber so that`s why I picked those up otherwise I`ve been all-in on LC (and they`re local, too). Figured my first whirl (so to speak!) with MF I`d go with something I knew.

No, it was a particular size in one of the foam pads.

I got fouled up on this because I was reading the description on the HDO pads where the orange is a polishing pad, but I decided to go with the Force Hybrid presuming the orange foam was the same, but they consider the orange to be a cutting on the Force Hybrid...which I should have realized since they have a white in the FH which they don`t in the HDO, but I was in a hurry.

I decided on the Force because I`m going to probably use them on my Flex 3401, so I figured I didn`t need the HDO. Too bad they didn`t have the SDO.

I really don`t understand using the same color for different things from the same pad maker. I mean if they can`t be consistent across the full lineup at least use a *different* color than one that already means a specific thing on other product lines.

I think part of the problem is I don`t think these foams are made for polishing pads...I mean I don`t think they custom make them for the polishing pad people...more like the pad people have to use what`s available from the foam manufacturers. That`s actually an interesting question. If the foam was being custom made, wouldn`t they be more consistent within certain manufacturers? Like in this case with Lake Country, the HDO/SDO is blue/orange/black for cut/polish/finish, while the Force Hybrid is orange/white/black.

On the other hand, I`m not sure what these kind of foams are used for other than polishing pads. Here`s an LC chart to make things more confusing: https://lakecountrymfg.com/wp-content/uploads/201810_LC_MSTR_AGRESSION_WEB.pdf
