5 week old car,do I need to clay before Zaino Z2?

I have a Satin Silver Acura that I have had dor about 5 weeks. Do I need to clay with such a new car? Is it OK to clay just where I have some bug marks? I have wshed it at least once a week. Thanks for any help.
 
Try this test: Put your hand in a plastic baggie and rub it lightly along the car. The baggie will highlight any surface contamination that needs to be removed with clay.



I always think claying is a good idea. Its easy to do and you can clay a car in 15 mins or so. But try the test and decide for yourself. Good luck.
 
I would clay a new car just to make sure rail dust/industrial fall out has been removed from the transportaion process...
 
Definately clay! When I clayed our (then new) Satin Silver Accord, I couldn't believe how much stuff was on the paint. Silver does a pretty good job of hiding contaminants. I would really recommend claying your car.
 
yea i would test the surface first, but new car doesn't mean that its fresh off the factory...just fresh off the lot. It could be just sitting there for a while, and also dust like others said from the transportation could've gotten on it.
 
I have a Satin Silver RSX, a few weeks ago I clayed mine and what a difference. I washed it with dawn, and it shined, but you could feel it was rough. After the clay, it was very smooth. Trust me, you'll see the difference.
 
Roverhater - Welcome to Autopia! Here's another vote for claying. Any ferrous contaminants ("rail dust") can result in small, permanent rust spots that are quite noticeable on silver.
 
I had a month new 330cic and after I clayed it the paint was very smoth compared to before claying.Claying is a good procedure to start with for a new car when detailing. You always want to seal in the smoothest, cleanest, and slickest paint as possible!
