476s topped with Souveran Spray Wax

I just waxed the car with 476s for Winter prep. First time user of Collinite. It looks good but a little sterile, more sealant like than a normal nuba. I would like to top it with Souveran spray wax. Are there any issues with doing this? Is it a bad idea at all? IT's been 24 hrs since 476s went on.

Souveran Spray Wax will work fine over the 476. You are putting a carnauba spray wax (with some polymers) over a carnauba wax.



Not sure how much it will change the appearance though? Maybe a couple of applications?

I'm not sure if the spray wax has solvents in it or not if it does it will remove the layer of colinite you just put on.I did use Souveran LIQUID wax over Colinite it removed the colinite layer.so I reapplied the Colinite and left it like that and my suggestion to you is not to add anything on top of Colinite and let it do what it is suppose to do which is winter protection.

As long as there are no mechanical cleaners in the products, and one applies the product correctly, you won't hardly touch the product underneath. Provided the product doesn't have a LOT of solvents... Souveran Liquid does not seem to have a lot of solvents.

I put one coat of Colinite all over the car a day later one layer of souveran liquid wax, later on I did some paint correction on the hood with my PC ,when I was done I only put a layer of Colinite on the hood,and noticed when Washing the car water would just roll off the hood but the rest of the car was just not the same I can't explain the difference unless you could see it with your own eyes,yes I know it could be a few different factors like the contour of the hood is not like the doors or I may have applied too much of one product and /or not enough of the other but overall if I use colinite for preparation to winter I would apply two coats and leave it to do its job most effectively.

IMHO paste waxes can be layerd without worrying too much about the solvents but a great detailer has told me that liquid waxes specially if applied with a PC or rotary can remove the layers underneath it.

I've heard other reports of some topper disturbing previously applied 476S. I was very surprised to hear it, but hey, that's not the first time I've been surprised I woulda expected the 476S to be utterly inpervious to such stuff :nixweiss

I have done that with mother's pure carnauba wax over WG sealant using spitshine method and it worked for me too.

Depending on how the machine is being used, and who is using it... I would agree with that part. Of course, that would also be the case no matter what type of product is being applied.



Souveran Spray Wax is pretty tame stuff. Even the Souveran Liquid is very mild. I can't see either of them removing much of anything... by hand. By machine, anything can happen.



Maybe Collinite had a bad batch of 476?
