1 square foot of this bumper took about 45 minutes. Thought I'd share a couple pics. Theres a few little imperfections left, but I'm not done with this panel yet. I gotta take a break for dinner (been workin since 7am straight with 10 min lunch) so now seemed like a good time lol.

Most of what you still see on the paint is just lint from the MF towels. This bumper generates enough static electricity to power L.A.!

One good RIDS left thats just too deep.

To the right of the light reflection is a reflection of a Megs bottle, not a scratch ;)

The rest of the car will be posted up in a few days when its all done :)

I'm glad knowing that I'm not the only one working 10+ hours a day on a car (Since 830am but big breaks) :chuckle:

Looks great, can't wait to see the whole thing finished!

Actually, some parts are worse :hairpull

Gonna be a long night of :buffing: :help::wall:ignore and more :buffing:

I guess it won't make you feel any better to hear I had to do a wash and wax on a garage queen Z06 then...

However, I bet you make a lot more $$$ than I made on the 'vette. :chuckle:

Haha it actually kinda does... I know that someone is getting decent sleep tonight LOL.

The KB method is killing my arms (especially the vertical sections), but the pay is keeping my mind off the sore arms :chuckle:

Think I'm just about done for today...

Hope you don't think this rude of me but are you sure you're getting all the sanding marks out??

In those pics TO ME it still looks like there are light sanding marks in most of them.

Are you using a rotary at all for any of the polishing or just the PC??

The body shop didn't finish down with a fine grit.... I think some were finished with like 1500. There are 1 or 2 little sanding marks that wouldn't come out, and I didn't want to get more aggressive with it because there are several spots on the car where not enough paint and clear was used. I'm not aiming for 100% correction either, just getting it close.

The first step is on the rotary.

Just did an '02 Camaro today, glad it was just a basic detail and not a correction-the paint was really, really bad. Going to need repainting on about 30% of the car and probably some wetsanding on the rest to fix it.

How's the car coming along? More pics?

I just finished it about 2 hours ago and the client just picked it up. He was very pleased with my work, but pretty upset with the body shop. You'll see why in my post lol. Thread coming soon.

Be careful on those plastic bumpers. Too aggressive = paint wrinkles.

yeah, gotta love F-body plastic.... I love these cars (have one), but those sections are tricky to work with. Too much heat and you're screwed lol.

Hope things go well for you on the rest. Don't have a 3401?

Thanks! Thats the Flex right? I tried it out once and didn't really care for it. It works great, but I did not like the motion of it, and it seemed to get the paint warmer than my rotary... could just be me.

Dave (dsms) has a Metabo right? thats the one with the unique head shaped handle on the front I think. Been thinking of getting one just for that handle.
