40th Anniversary ZR-1 Corvette (8 Days, More Than 60 Hours!!) by RickRack...

Jokeman- Thanks a lot Bryan! It's always a pleasure to have you stop by the shop and hang out for a while. We'll definitely have to meet up and do some snowmobiling this winter. See you again soon.

Gen2- Thank you very much! I can't wait to see some more of your details. You take great pictures and I always enjoy your threads.

MotorCity- Thanks! I really appreciate it!

Whoa, it's back from the grave Rick! You definitely brought this one back and it looks better than a lot of the new Vette's out there! I'm sure the owner was impressed and be a customer for life if he wasn't already. :)

Oh by the way, what backing plate are you using (it's black in color) in the picture of you polishing with 106FA?

Thanks a lot Denzil!

The backing plate I was using is a Meguiar's "Easy Buff" W66 backing plate. They work great! Meguiars Solo System

Right on. Thanks for the prompt response, Rick.

I'll pick up a gallon today.

Yes, that's the stuff. You pick up a gallon at Home Depot for about $11 or so. I dillute it 50/50 with water.

Well, damn. I just checked the Spray Nine web site....it's only available in the Northeast at Home Depot and Lowe's.

Oh well....

Hol-y - cow.....not shatering gloss barrier, but restoration is more like it. Car is better than the day it rolled off the factory. I hope the owner drools over it as much as I have looking at these stunning before and after pics. Rick as always you're a master at work.

Thanks a lot Ian! I really appreciate the kind words.

How is everything? Do you still have the Audi?

Stop by the shop some day if you are ever in the area.

Wow great job, if it wasn't for all the pictures of the process I would have thought the car had been repainted. Seriously one of the best saves I have seen! Great Job.
