400hp 25th Anniversary Edition Camaro

Beautiful NY spring day today. It was around 50* and Mostly sunny...perfect weather for detailing. The owner of this beautiful Camaro found me through Autopia and was looking to have some swirling removed.

The overall paint condition was very good. It was slick and shiny, but had a bunch of swirls taking away from its overall appearance. My final processes were:

-S+W to clean
-Clayed lower panels with PB clay and S+W
-Menzerna IP via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @1200rpm
-Menzerna PO106 via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @1200rpm
-Zaino Z2 by hand

-BnB on tires and in wells
-AIO on windows and rims
-Mother's Metal Polish with #0000 on tailpipes
-GR-40 on trim

Whoa snap. Would you say there were many swirls? How do you use a rotary on those curved areas! Zaino eh? Don't turn into a Zaino Zealot :lmfao :lol :dancin :hippi

Great work as usual Sean.

the last shot the car looks like liquid

How low is that car, it looks like it's only about 3 inches off the ground

That last pic is amazing... looks like you could reach into that paint and grab one of the reflections. :drool

Thanks everyone :).

The Woob: The picture didn't grab it well, but here is another hood shot before. The swirls were definately noticeable.

I had to get more aggresive in the areas of original paint. GM clear tends to be very tough in my experiences. The curves were interesting. I was definately on my toes the entire time. Zaino is a very good product, but with the proper prep, not *that* much better than some others out there. It has its place in my arsenal, but so do products like PB EX and Menzerna FMJ.

jaybs: I'm not sure, but my car is lower ;).

I, personally, was very happy with the last shot as well.
